Went to Montgomery for a conference and asked some locals where the best Cajun food was and they all quickly answered *Cafe Acadiana*. The way they answered said it all, we rerouted our hotels and flights out of Mobile to enjoy a good Cajun dinner. Cafe Acadiana did not disappoint!! Service was fantastic. The appetizers were amazing (boudin balls and crab cakes), the dinner for me was chefs choice and it was by far the best dinner I’ve had in a long time. I am a retired chef from the west coast, trust me if you want authentic Cajun food, change everything in your travel plans to have the best meal that you will remember for a very long time at Cafe Acadiana.

Hubby and I had the catfish and etoufee lunch. Son had flounder Ponchetrain. Our only wish as that the etoufee came in a mixing bowl! Son’s Ponchetrain was buttery and flavorful. Our catfish was crisp and moist. Etoufee was complex and satisfying. There isn’t anything uppity about this place, and the food is honest and true, the real thing.

I can not say enough about how great my lunch was on Feb 5th. In Silverhill, Al.
Crab cake appetizers, a crisp fresh broccoli salad, then flounder ponchatrain – lunch special w/ fresh onion rings for my meal. I added crab cake dinner to take home for my husband yet I later ate it also, it all was sooo delicious. The crawfish sauce was soo buttery & delicious .
The service was great, the food was divine, atmosphere so cozy and inviting. The other 4 in my group also bragged on each of their meals also.

Outstanding dishes from the Acadian area of Louisiana. I have dined here numerous times over the past few years. There’s 3 things you can always count on. Food is fresh served hot and cooked when ordered, lunch specials are always varied and good, the staff is friendly. I have never used their catering but know people who have had them cater for events and they said food and service was outstanding. Would recommend either for those who want to grab lunch or go at nighttime for a delicious meal. You can also order various items off the menu in large quantities such as gumbo, red beans & rice, etc. They are a favorite in the area and easy to find. Highly recommend.

Tonight, my wife, oldest grandson, and I visited Cafe Acadiana in Silverhill, AL. This was the first visit for my wife and I. This is a small quaint cafe in a nice community frequented by locals and visitors alike. My wife and I ordered Boudin Balls as an appetizer and the Crabcakes Pontchartrain with seasoned green beans and coleslaw as our entree.
The Boudin Balls and coleslaw were brought out before the entree. The Boudin Balls tasted good and had a nice crunchy crust on the outside.
The seasoned green beans were very tasty and were not overcooked and still retained a bright green color.
The coleslaw was somewhat creamy and had a more savory flavor. I actually added a little sugar to it just because of my own personal preference.
The crabcakes were full of lump crab meat, battered, then fried, giving them a nice crunch. They were covered in their own special crawfish and shrimp sauce making this a delicious dish.
Our grandson created his own combo platter with blackened Mahi, fried crawfish tails, and a cup of that special crawfish and shrimp sauce with a side of fried okra. It must have been very good because there were no leftovers to box up and take home.
Service was prompt and professional. All of the staff was courteous and friendly. This was our first visit, but it won’t be our last.

What a Great experience. Our service from Miranda was pleasant and sweet she answered all my questions. I ordered crab cakes with zucchini and my husband had flounder with rice and beans. Can’t forget the coleslaw that was good! Oh and the roll

Wow what a gem!! Not only was this a fantastic dinner but VERY affordable too. My husband had a catfish poor boy and I had fried shrimp, we both had fried okra but I also got the bonus of the homemade hush puppies – best I’ve ever had and this old lady has had her share of hush puppies! Fish & shrimp fried perfectly, not dry or soggy; okra extra crispy just like it should be. No extra seasoning needed. Our server never let our glasses get to half empty and the food was served promptly. Fantastic small café just off the main drag to the beach!

How am I just now eating here? Have driven past this place numerous times, heard about it, but just never went. Finally my neighbor said, “Let’s GO!” So glad we went. The gumbo was fantastic. My husband has the Grouper Pontchartrain. D-Lish! I had fried shrimp with grilled zucchinni. So Good! Even gave my neighbor a free slice of amazing Key Lime Pie for his birthday. Did I mention how friendly our waitress was?! Great place. We will be returning. BTW it is a BYOB place.
