I don’t often give five-atar reviews across the board, but this place deserves it. I’m hesitant to go to any Country Kitchen because I rarely get real southern cooking much less southern hospitality. I got both here.
This is obviously a locals joint. The servers were calling everyone by name. If they didn’t know you, they called you sugar and sweetie, etc. I nice touch.
I ordered the pot roast, mashed potatoes, and green beans. The roast was slightly overcooked, but not much. The overall plate was very good.
I don’t live in Tallahassee, but if I did, I would become a regular here. Very nice place to visit and eat!

Excellent atmosphere, excellent service, excellent people, exceptional food. We were driving all the way from Pace FL to a Friday night football game in Madison County FL and I’m so glad we chose to stop here and eat. I felt as though we had stepped into a town favorite. If we are ever headed back down this way we will definitely be back. One of my new ALL time favorites! If you’re wanting a great meal this is it!

Lovely old fashioned, locally-owned diner offering southern cooking. The service is down home friendly; you can tell they try to connect with the customers and build lasting relationships. The food is good with huge portions. This is definitely a go to if you don’t feel like cooking. The cornbread muffins are amazing and you can tell that they’re baked fresh from scratch!

Customer service was great, we didn’t enjoy our food much. I ordered the French toast which tasted and looked like the cinnamon powder was just dumped on top of the toast. Eggs and country fried steak wasn’t seasoned at all not even with salt or pepper. We’ve enjoyed these same meals previously from here but this time it wasn’t the same.

Stopped in here for lunch after taking the kids on an outing at the Lake Jackson library branch, because we wanted something close, and this was in the same shopping strip. And we ended up loving it so much. Husband and I both ordered burgers, and they were amazing, classic, huge, juicy burgers. I got mine with the potato logs, and he got onion rings, and we shared some of both, and both were really good. We ordered chocolate chip pancakes, eggs & grits for our two kids, and those were huge meals, so we had lots of leftovers, which they ate all of for dinner that same night.
