Chelsea, our waitress was absolutely phenomenal! Quick of wit and fleet of foot. Always attentive to the customer. The food was excellent. Except the soup was served cold. Both windows and blinds are dirty.

Never once have I ever had a bad meal or bad service. All staff are friendly, courteous and professional. Sit at the sushi bar and talk with the owner as he makes your tuna rolls fresh in front of you. It’s not just lunch, it’s an experience.

A place I would stop in again if I was in the area. They have great lunch options and decent prices. They have hibachi options that are prepared in the kitchen and brought out. No show. It is a small restaurant with good decore. The bathroom might benefit from an update. If you like Americanized Japanese style food, this is a good place to visit.

My plate came and looked as if someone had already picked through it and pushed the food around, they had spread out the vegetables as best they could to make it look like a full portion as you can see in the picture. I like calamari so I tried the calamari steak dinner, everyone that had it agreed it was almost identical in taste and texture to tofu. My wife’s sushi dinner roll was brought out 20 minutes before the rest of the meals, before the appetizer as well; she got the one roll and side of rice and wasn’t interested in finishing the sushi despite the food being half the amount he usually orders for a meal. The sushi itself looked like how I imagine it would be if I tried to roll it for the first time. Kids Mac and cheese was very obviously a box of Kraft Mac and cheese or some similar brand. Arrived at 7:05 didn’t get meal till after 8:00.

Was here for work, my co-worker and I ate here every day. Amazing food, huge portions. Sushi is good, and their bento meals are super delish. The fried rice is very authentic.

Affordably priced food in a cozy atmosphere. They have a genuine sushi chef, which is neat. I wish they weren’t the only Japanese restaurant in Lake City, though. I love the Flaming Tiger Roll, and the avocado roll, but they also have traditional offerings like teriyaki chicken. I’m fairly sure they offer Sake and wine here, too. I go pretty often. We’ve even had a birthday party or two here before. If in you’re in Lake City, check it out for sure.

I just picked up $49 + tip worth of sushi and food from Yamato. The food was god awful. All of the rice was dry and crunchy! How is that possible for a sushi restaurant!!! The sushi just crumbled. The tempura style veggie dinner was just giant pieces of greasy vegetables. The only good thing about the meal was the miso soup and it barely had flavor. Such a shame knowing that I have had incredible meals there in the past. Do not waste your precious money here.
