Always the best place for seafood, soup, and a good time! Been coming here with my family since before i could walk and it stands as one of our oldest traditions to have dinner or lunch here at least once a week. The staff are the absolute best! Carey will always take care of ya idk who would ever give this place less than 5 stars, if you have the chance… get some boiled crabs, onion rings and a cup o soup and let em know Clare sent ya!

The service was amazing! My girlfriend loves crawfish and this is one of her favorite places. This was my first time at Galley’s and let me tell you it was worth every penny. The spicy crawfish was amazing and will definitely have me back there again, even without my girlfriend! All jokes aside, as a restaurant GM this place hit all the boxes when it comes to hospitality! I’ll see you guys real soon and this time her and I will order 10 pounds instead of 5!

Fantastic seafood spot that hits on all fronts. The fried crab claws were really incredible, never had something quite like that before. Got the fried platter of oysters, catfish, and shrimp, and they were all incredible. Super fresh and made to order. Really everything we ordered was great, highly recommend stopping here.

Highest seafood prices I’ve ever seen! This is FAR from a five star restaurant. 50 bucks for a fried seafood platter is outrageous. The food is basic and no better than any other seafood in town. And their potato salad was the texture of mashed potatoes.

Owner and Server were both friendly. My meal was delicious and tasted fresh. I was especially impressed with the flavor and size of the oysters. The chargrilled oysters were done to perfection.

Always Always delicious!! A wonderful neighborhood seafood place …. that the locals love! You must stop there during crawfish season…and everyday in between! We enjoyed the gumbo, the Red Beans and Rice and eggplant strips! We’ve never been disappointed in any dish that we’ve ordered from there. The guys who work there, have been there for years! A good sign of a good family restaurant! They are all so fun and friendly! The service is also fast and on point! This Denver visitor has been there several times with local friends…and it’s always the best!

Hostess extremely rude. Called to inquire about menu prices (I believed I was overcharged as menu does not list all prices). Female hostess got very frustrated and hung up the phone. Not that special of a place. Also serves bottles of water instead of glasses.

Food was decent; what you would expect from a seafood Restaraunt around the area, but prices were a bit high for what you get.
Our waitress was super sweet as well as the other male waiters who delivered the food.
The hostess/desk lady was rude. We asked if it was possible to split an appetizer between our party of three. Our waitress didn’t seem to have a problem but the front desk lady made a big ordeal about it. (I get it- $18 is really hard to divide by 3). She very loudly was complaining. I went to the desk and told her that if it wasn’t possible, or caused any issues we could just put it all on my card. She said it was no problem but as I walked away one of the people in my party said she made a disgruntled/sarcastic face towards me.
I hope that the hostess/desk lady can foster a more positive, friendly attitude moving forward if she continues her work in customer service.

Summary:

Great place to stop for a bite if your near. Seemed like an old neighborhood restaurant where you get a bunch of regulars, with some new comers.

Good to experience the southern cuisine in its fullest flavors.

More detailed review –

Location:

Located in the heart of Metairie, surrounded by residential homes and some business buildings. Great looking neighbor.

Restaurant:

Very straight forward building design, and easy entrance access. They have patio seating for the warmer months of the year. Clean place, well kept up. And my favorite was the atmosphere, it gives off an old traditional seafood restaurant.

Staff & service:

Friendly and attentive. I was greeted right as I walked in. They seemed very genuine with everyone they interacted with. Definitely not lacking any customer service values. They also held small conversations with the local customers. Truly makes you feel welcomed.

Food:

I enjoyed everything I ordered. Menu was straight forward and fairly priced. Didn’t wait too long in between my dishes.

It was also my first time having craw fish, and it was absolute delicious. They sell it by then lbs separate from the menu.

I recommend, and will come again.
