Stopped into Art’s Bakery today final ly! Everyone was super friendly, and the selection was enormous. I asked if they had anything non dairy, as i have an allergy, they said the only thing was chocolate cake w/white frosting. I love chocolate cake so I got that (the piece is huge as you can see in the photo). I also got my partner a lobster tail, which they’d never had before. I was proud as the child of a large extended Italian family, to introduce them to this treat! We both enjoyed everything immensely! I can’t wait to go back and try their bread. Both pastries were under $10.00 total. Thank you for a wonderful first experience!

Arts did the cookies for my wedding this summer. They were amazing. We got several compliments from our guests. They were a reasonable price as well. Highly recommend!

I went there for pepperoni bread girl looked in oven then read a red device that told her how long till done told me 40 minutes so I bought a bear claw and prepaid for bread said I’ll go do something near by and come back in a little while she said ok. I can back in 1 hour 10 minutes and boy asked if could help me I told him about what went on then turned and asked a girl about it and she looked in oven then checked red device and said it will be about 35 minutes she just put them in I said no I paid for 1 and explained what happened she said well we don’t have any I said but I paid that’s not right she said well you’ll have to come back in like half hour I said I don’t live close by she said oh well and put her arms up I said well then I want my money refunded to me she said she’s busy I said well I want my money back. So when she was doing I said so who did you sell them all to like a local gas station or something she we never had any I said the girl who took my money opened the oven and checked on them I saw them she said well you can’t see very well. I see fine and I hear fine this bakery just celebrated like 75 years in business but with attitude and service like this I’d be amazed if doing good in another 5 years I use to go there a lot. Never again your bread ain’t all that. Keep it!!!

Cookies were small, dry, and flat. Creme horn was also dry, little flavor, and tasted like a week old. Not impressed at all.

We were in Erie and looking for a good bakery! We purchased a dozen assorted cookies, a maple walnut cinnamon roll, a bear claw, and a blueberry flip! The maple roll was excellent, the best we ever had. Lots of walnuts on top, and texture was perfect! Husband loved the blueberry flip and sons said cookies were great! Will definitely remember this bakery next time we go back to Erie PA!

Something was definitely “lost” when the new ownership took over. I’ve been going to Art’s since I was a little girl with my parents, so 50 + years. When you would walk into Art’s it was like walking into your grama’s kitchen, filled with warmth, love and delicious smells. Now? When you walk in no one greets you, or helps you for that matter. And when they do, you feel as if you are bothering them. The recipes have changed, or they are not following them. Just not good, on a multitude of items now. Not to mention the size of products have definitely shrunk… yet the price has gone up. So between the sad, poor, customer service, the dismal products now offered, size reduction and price increase… I unfortunately don’t shop here any longer. I am big on supporting local, but until something changes here I can’t. Years ago, I was in charge of the graduation after party at Villa, having done it 4 years in a row. I would order SEVERAL items from Art’s for the party, spending hundreds of dollars there. Art’s son eagerly helped me every year, and the service and the product couldn’t be better. That was then. Bring back the original recipes and hire better staff…

I have never had such rude dismissive customer service at this bakery. When I walked in there were 3 employees behind the counter and they were having a loud discussion and complaining non stop. They never looked up to acknowledge me. I was the only customer in there. I stood at the cookie counter and was ignored. I moved over to get some cinnamon rolls that were already packaged and they were still complaining to one another. I went on to the register, made eye contact with each one of them and smiled. Nothing. One of them finally walked over to check me out. No good morning, can I get you anything else, nothing. She gave me the total, asked if I wanted a receipt and off I went. Art’s products are just ok. Nothing above what other grocery store bakeries offer. The customer service in the old Art’s was fantastic. A friendly hello when you went in and always a rush to the counter to serve . A thank you when you left or have a nice day. I will not be back. No stars for service and atmosphere and 2 for food.

I had ordered some subs through a school fundraiser, the subs were terrible , like they were slapped together in a hurry! There was one piece of lettuce the size of a fifty cent piece, one half slice of tomatoes, and one piece of chipped chopped ham , the kind u would get in school it was so thin u could see through it!! It was disappointing to say the least! And the pepperoni balls had like 2 pieces of pepperoni in each one , it was all bread!!

Something was definitely lost in translation to the new owners. It took a few minutes to get waited on which I understand. It’s just not the traditional super prompt service I used to receive in the past but enough to make me go, hmm. Then I went to the cooler to grab torpedoes and there were none. As a matter of fact, there were no pepperoni balls at all on a Thursday at 230 p.m. when everyone is getting out of school/work. None. I asked if it was temporary as if are they in the oven? Being prepped? No more today? Will you have more tomorrow? The person would barley speak. Just mumbled ” I don’t know” and something about a steamer of which I had no idea. It seemed like I was bothering him so I just dropped it. I grabbed 3 of the subs for my family without looking or paying attention only to get home and check the receipt to find out they are ham, swiss and smoked turkey subs!? They have always been combo subs so I shopped without thinking that everything here is changing(for the worse). Silly me. Now no more combo subs too? Needless to say, I won’t be back and can no longer reccomend Art’s. Erie is going down hill so fast. It’s sad.

I’m on a short Vaca with my family and we stopped in here because I love to check out small shops since you never know what you’ll find. Now I’ve had pepperoni rolls/balls my entire life. But I have NEVER had ones as good as Arts! I live about 2 hours away and I’d drive those two hours just for the pepperoni rolls. I also got a lobster tail (the cream filled pastry version), a strawberry rhubarb flip (turnover), and some cookies. Everything I got was superb, I am impressed!
