I’m giving Sula 4 stars overall. First impression matters a lot, and the welcome at the door wasn’t the best. We weren’t greeted with much warmth, just asked where we wanted to sit, and it felt a bit off at the start. That said, later I realized we probably arrived close to closing time. I honestly didn’t even know they were about to close in 40/45 minutes until our server mentioned it was last call if we wanted to order more. Normally I would never go near closing time, so that could explain the mood at the door. After that, the experience got much better. Another server was really good and helpful, and our main server, I believe his name was George, was honestly great. He was polite, attentive, and handled everything really well even though it was close to closing. He even gave us dessert on the house without us expecting it, which was a really nice gesture. Food-wise, it was below average for me and I had higher expectations, especially with how popular Sula is and the competition around. Still, I really want to support local businesses, and because the service was good, I’m happy to give Sula another chance and hopefully change my mind next time.

PS- Food at their other locations is a bit better thn this.

Today my fiancé and I went to Sula for the second time, and once again we were lucky to be served by Jithin A.

Our first visit was already outstanding. Since we’re not very familiar with Indian cuisine, Jithin took the time to explain the menu and make helpful suggestions. The food was delicious, perfectly prepared, and the restaurant itself is gorgeous!!!

This time, we ordered Butter Chicken with rice and garlic cheese naan, and the portion was ideal for sharing. What truly elevated the experience was Jithin’s service. He was friendly, attentive, and made us feel very welcome. It’s clear that he genuinely cares about his customers.

Overall, it was one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had!!

Absolutely Outstanding Experience – Twice During Our Vancouver Stay!

We visited this restaurant twice during our stay in Vancouver, and honestly, it became one of the highlights of our trip. From the moment we walked in, the hospitality was exceptional.

A huge shout-out to the entire team …. Georgian, Anmol, Parisa, Jitin, and Prashna. Every single one of them was welcoming, attentive, and genuinely warm. You can truly feel the passion and pride they have in what they do.

The cocktails were outstanding & creative, perfectly balanced, and beautifully presented. The food was equally amazing, full of flavor and thoughtfully curated.

On our second visit, we tried the tasting menu, highly recommended by Georgian and Anmol, and it was an unforgettable experience. Anmol was our server for the tasting menu, and she did an incredible job explaining each dish in detail as it arrived. Every course was inspired by different Indian states and regions, and her explanations added so much depth and appreciation to the entire experience. You could really understand the story, culture, and inspiration behind each dish.

This is not just a meal….it’s an experience.
If you’re visiting Vancouver, this place is an absolute must-visit!!!
Highly recommended, and a big thank you to the amazing staff for making our visits so memorable. We can’t wait to come back!

Overpriced and overhyped. The food does not reflect authentic Indian ethnic flavors at all.

The service quality is also disappointing the waiter staff is not trained to a level that justifies the pricing of the menu items.

On top of that, there was a rodent inside the restaurant, which raises serious concerns about cleanliness and hygiene. This is absolutely unacceptable for any dining establishment, especially one charging premium prices.

Our server Georgin was great, excellent customer service. Food-wise, we chose the DOV set menu, which maybe wasn’t the best call. The appetizers were a bit dry and not very memorable. That said, I personally loved the lamb dish with the garlic naan, and the vanilla lavender cake was lovely. We’ll definitely be back to try the regular A la carte menu instead of a set menu.

Sula is my favourite Indian restaurant in the city by far. Each time I come here I am blown away with the quality and taste. There are unique vegetarian options that you don’t see on a typical menu. I love the atmosphere inside. While a tad pricey, it’s worth it every time!

Randomly found this gem on Tripadvisor and it has been such a delight. Tried the following:

Pomfret Tawa Fry – 9.8/10
Angeethi Murg – 9/10
Chicken Changezi – 6/10 room for improvement
Lamb Kolhapuri – 8/10
Khamiri roti was soooo good.

The low rating for Chicken Changezi as it did not really taste like Changezi and the chicken could use some additional marination.

The tawa fry was exquisite. I’m a Goan and eating good Pomfret has been a task in Vancity but this was just perfect.

Everything else was great too. Loved Anmolpreet, so kind and helpful even if we were late. They were accommodating and patient.

Overall it is a must visit. Love love love their food. Just gonna go crash now. Byeee.

The Royal Jaipur winter afternoon tea concept felt promising but unfortunately eventhough we really wanted to love it, the savory stuff such as mint&cheese croissant and mini samosa croissant were cold and slightly overdone. The paan macaroon and rose & raspberry roulade were dry and felt atleast 2 days old. The chum chum velvet bite and saffron rasmalai cake which were closer to Indian cuisine were quite fresh. The bajra lasoon chutney scone with the jungle maas soup and masala butter was a great recipe but the scone was very dry. The pulled chicken slider and pink peppercorn paneer bhurji sandwich were good. Overall it seemed like pasties are not their forte.

The food here is divine. The balance of flavors of everything we ordered was great. Ash was our server and was wonderful. Truly, the only challenge was not being able to order everything off the menu. We will surely be returning!
