Pretty solid comfort Cantonese food! The flavors were delicious overall. Porridge was delicious and wasn’t too salty. Rice noodles were my favorite and had sesame and hoisin sauces with it. Only thing is that your clothes will smell as the restaurant doesn’t have good ventilation.

Soft opening was today. So the logistics that make this place a little different is you order your food, get a pager, sit down, self service counter-grab your own water, utensils, condiments- and wait for them to buzz you to the counter which might be multiple trips depending on how much food you ordered. Tipping is not encouraged here. For the soft open they were a little slow and we got there before it was crowded. If there are no seats available you might need to wait in line by the counter until someone leaves and then you can order your food. The food itself was good and we will be back to try the other items. Heard this place was popular in Diamond Bar so we’re fortunate to have one close by.

I revisited Chan Kee this morning, hoping for a better experience after a disappointing first visit when they initially opened their doors. Unfortunately, my second visit only solidified my disappointment, as it seems to be their standard practice.

While some dishes like the congee were good, the disappointment came when they forgot to add salt to the congee, which is a basic oversight. To make matters worse, when we requested a cold milk tea drink, they wanted to charge an extra $1.50, and even for condensed milk, they added an extra $.5 to the bill, which is uncommon as most HK cafes in the SGV provide these as part of the drink.

What truly compounded our disappointment was the presence of flies everywhere in the restaurant, which significantly impacted our dining experience. It’s disheartening to witness such bad business practices with what feels like extortion for basic condiments and a pest issue.

Regrettably, I won’t be returning to Chan Kee due to this consistently disappointing experience and questionable business practices.

Have been eating at Diamond bar location and we are so glad that they bring the same great quality to close to home. Visited during soft opening with limited business hour. Will certainly return as regular after grand opening! Order roast duck, bbq pork, tomato sauce pork chop pasta and fried chicken thigh, everything is very tasty and fresh!

So excited that they finally open a location closer to home. Went there for breakfast yesterday, not sure how long have they been open, but looks like not everything in the menu is available yet. I ordered 2 porridge, 3 noodles and a French toast for the 7 of us and we probably ate 1/2 the food cuz the portions are big. And the best part… They don’t take tip! I’d definitely be back for more. Can’t wait to try their bbq items.

My wife and I wanted some Hong Kong style food. My first impression is this restaurant and menu looks like 大家樂 in HK. I was so hungry that I didn’t take any pictures except the Rice Rolls with Chinese Donut and it’s super delicious and super authentic. We also ordered a House Special Porridge, Soy Sauce Chow Mein and a HK style Milk Tea(must try) super authentic!!! Will come back to try other things!!!!

This place offers cuisine that is very similar to the Hong Kong style cafe. Tastes and items on the menu are very authentic. Looking forward to when they are done updating their menus – some of the items on the current menus are not available. Porridge served in a cute bucket and restaurant offers side dishes that are accompaniment to it as well. If you are craving Hong Kong cafe style food especially the breakfast items, give this place a try!

My cousin has been telling me to try this Cantonese breakfast place in Monrovia. He also told me not to buy to go, so I had to dine in. The portion of the porridge is huge, but if I to go it, it would have been one container instead of 2. The flavor is okay, nothing special about it, just porridge. But for $15 combo, I chose the rice roll and yinyang, plus the ice cream (dine in only). I think it is worth it. Everything is self-serve at this cafe, it is pretty simple. I do want to go back to try their other dishes, especially the WanTon noodle and baked rice.

What I like is their self-help condiment corner. Recommend to add these condiment, including soy sauce and pepper into the porridge before eating. Their service was not so good, unfriendly.
