I will definitely be back, no matter how much I drive 2 hours, this place is worth it.
My Valentine’s Day was great in this place.
I started with a brut rosé that struck the perfect balance, not too sweet, and my partner ordered the Improved Whiskey Cocktail, which he thoroughly enjoyed. For our appetizer, we chose the bread, which was wonderful. It tasted fresh and came with butter that had just a hint of sweetness, which paired beautifully.
For entrées, my partner had the Figaro Boneless Braised Short Rib and really liked it. He felt the figs might have been slightly on the sweet side for the dish, but overall, the flavors came together nicely. I ordered the Meatball Arrabbiata, and it was delicious. The sauce and meatballs complemented each other perfectly. The pappardelle noodles were tasty, though a bit tricky to twirl and eat.
For our second round of drinks, we tried the Frenchie and the Paper Plane. While both were good, we agreed we preferred our first drinks. For me, the elderflower in the Frenchie was a bit strong.
We ended the evening by sharing the chocolate gelato, which was divine, rich, creamy, and the perfect sweet ending.
Overall, we will definitely be coming back. The service was outstanding, and we loved the interior. The exposed brick and hardwood floors give the space a warm, historic charm.
I came for a friend’s party, while we didn’t get to choose, the reviews of this place spoke highly and we were semi excited. All of my friends hyped up the pasta meals and the photographic reviews even were extremely positive.
I’m convinced people don’t know what actual good pasta is. My wife’s Italian and we frequent Italy. On top of it, I can cook a fairly mean pasta meal. So my standards are fairly high.
We were really suprised at the appetizers, the ricotta and the burrata were great quality and enjoyable. Simple, but worthwhile. We got excited for the entree from the reviews and the hype of the appetizers.
This place tossed that entree plate into oblivion. Flavors were weak. Entrees were a 3/10 at best. Edible for sure, but flavor profile was weak or just straight wrong. Pasta was overcooked, no forms of all dente to be found. It was absolutely nowhere near the price range that it commanded.
We had the Shells with Shells, Orecchiette with mix of seafood. It should be qualified as Orecchiette with mix of garlic. 3 clams, 2 medium shrimps and 3 mussels for a 26 dollar plate of pasta is absolutely pitiful. You can import the pasta handmade from Italy, as well as the seafood and cook it yourself for less. The flavor profiles are wrecked with garlic, any form of seafood evidence was wiped from the plate. The sauce was a mix of white wine and garlic and butter. Just absolutely terrible for the price. It’s a 14 dollar pasta meal that is below average charging 26.
I had the gnocchi with pulled pork and chili’s. It was 22 dollars for a pulled pork that was as flavorless as it possibly could be. A chicken tortilla soup spiced with micro greens, scrap the chicken for pulled pork and fried pillows of gnocchi for ???. I got it because it was interesting, the flavors were average at best. Gnocchi saturated with the “sauce” and became soggy prior to even eating it. I’m guessing it sat prior to serving. It was a cross between Mexican food, Italian food and American and it should be put off the menu. It completely failed at achieving anything in my eyes.
I will give our server props, he was kind, tended to the table very well and was very attentive. An older gentleman. The bars drinks were well balanced, and fairly classy for 12-14 dollars. The ambiance was well situated and somehow the place was slammed.
I absolutely would emplore to you to try other options at the restaurant if you go, if not, skip the restaurant all together. I hope and pray I won’t need to return. There are so many other wonderful restaurants out there for cheaper and better tasting options. I have absolutely no comprehension on how this has achieved a 4.6.
On top of that, they charge a surge charge for credit cards. A lovely 3% reminder to never return to this restaurant again.
Bourbons from Woodinville Whiskey and a Dinner specially prepared by Chef/Owner Joanne, to pare perfectly with each Bourbon that we tasted. CEO and Founder, Orlin Sorensen and his team were there from Woodinville, to tell us about each Bourbon and the Meal, Oh My, … Joanne, you really out did yourself ! And a Special Shout Out to everyone involved in putting this together and also to our servers. The evening was Perfect.
We are ready for the next one. Thanks Again, Roy and Geri
We were seated immediately and greated by Marc our server who was amazing.
They have an extensive wine and bourbon list as well as a variety of crafted cocktails. I had a Buffalo Trace Old Fashion and my wife had a Pimms Cup. Both were very good .
Since my wife is Gluten Free, they have a large selection of items to choose from . Started with the Burrata appetizer and an order of baked oysters. Delicious!
For our main entrees we had the Shells on Shells pasta which was loaded with seafood but my wife was disappointed that the pasta was not shell pasta. I had the Shrimp Bruschetta which was loaded with shrimp and tasted amazing. Portions are huge but they were so good we had no leftovers .lol.
For our Anniversary they surprised us with some gelato and I had to try their famous Bourbon Pecan Pie. Very good but I brought half of it home. We ended the night with an Expresso Martini.
This is truly a hidden gem located in downtown Roselle.
If you’re looking for a new place to go and want to try something great, this is the place! Bring the kids, take the girls, or even better, bring a date! We will be back!
