The service is always good, even on busy nights. Not saying it is the fastest on busy hours but they will hustle to serve you.
Pool tables are convenient to use. Just have to squeeze thru others playing but it could be a friend making opportunity ♂️
The food is better than most in comparison. Definitely try their brews, they are good beers.
Fun, friendly, and good food.
For ten years, I’ve performed a fascinating social experiment: could free pool truly offset an ever-declining bar experience? At Pitchers, the answer is finally, resoundingly no.
What began as “quirky service” has matured into what I can only describe as hostile efficiency. The staff (looking at you Amy) have perfected a customer interaction model I’d call “transactional disdain.” Asking for a drink feels less like an order and more like presenting a burden. My ID has been scrutinized with the intensity of a border agent suspecting forgery, which is flattering, if confusing, for a man in his 30s.
The pièce de résistance of my final visit was a masterclass in flexible hours. With a posted closing time an hour away, we were graciously permitted to purchase one last overpriced pitcher. Then, in a bold operational pivot, closing time was moved up 50 minutes! The resulting scene—me hurriedly chugging a beer while being serenaded by curses and a closing-time anthem over the loudspeaker—was less “last call” and more “eviction notice.” It was appallingly memorable.
Combine this with décor that embraces “pre-renovation chic,” bathrooms that serve as a testament to human resilience, overpriced beer, and karaoke that could make a cat flinch, and you have a truly unique spot.
In summary: If you’re looking for free pool and an anthropological study in how not to treat regulars, Pitchers is your laboratory. For anything resembling a pleasant affordable night out, the joke’s on you.
Waited until first games ended. Many regulars left.
5 TVs wide open. No football fans watching one of them. Please may I watch the Rockets/Bucks NBA game on one of the 5?
Grumble and mumble and disappear. Was my 2nd ask.
Guess they do not need any more regulars.
Citrus wheat is a good beer. But yah, see you. Maybe not.
Good food menu, music is typically a bit of club style though. Craft beer selection covers ipa and lagers, staff is friendly and attentive.
Finding parking in lot is never a problem. They do kareoke as well.
Prices are reasonable.
Unfortunately, they used a plastic container and plastic lid for the salsa; they should just put a dialup of each on the salsa and sour cream. That would eliminate using unitary plastic.
The Margarita could use some mixology work. For $9, I’d expect something more than a pint of water mixed with corn syrup with a dash of tequila
I’ll be back, they just need to make a couple changes for a 5 star review
UPDATE: we were seated on the opposite side of the pool tables. None of my friends played pool. Another lie made up to try to justify kicking us out. I listed our activities, we didn’t play pool. We didn’t break anything. Nice try.
