I had an excellent experience at Lal Qila Restaurant! The biryani was full of flavor with perfectly tender, melt-in-your-mouth meat, and the kebabs were juicy and delicious . The place itself is very neat and clean, adding to the pleasant dining experience. To top it all off, the desserts were fresh and delightful—truly the perfect ending to a great meal!

We had a wonderful meal with friends and really enjoyed the food in West County. I thought we would have to go to the Grove or the Delmar loop to get Authentic Mediterranean food as good as this but we were so happy. We tasted everything and the food was homemade and fresh. We will be back again and again.

Went with my Mom, Aunt, Sister and boyfriend. 10/10 experience. It was our first time there and we all got different things to share and try. The service was excellent and the food delicious. One of the staff brought us an extra spicy red chutney sauce to try and we loved it. Will be going back! Everything was so delicious. I had to hide my chimney from my mom to keep her from eating it all . My family is from out of town and the staff was amazing at giving recommendations.

I love their Chapli kabobs, Nicaragua, Biryani, and haleem. They can make it spicier as you wish. The buffet is good. I love the halwa puri. I don’t eat mutton, goat, or lamb, so I can’t comment on those dishes. The Kabuli pulao tasted good. The area is mostly Arabs and Americans, so the buffet is adjusted to the less spicier side.

Absolutely worth it. Delicious food. Ample portions. Hot and fresh off-the- grill kabobs that melt in your mouth. Fragrant rice that you can’t stop eating. A flavorful diced salad with fresh ingredients like your mom made it at home. This is authentic Afghan cuisine that’s a rarity in the St. Louis area and a must try. We had a large pickup order and every item was delicious. Best restaurant! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Hands down, the best Halal restaurant in St. Louis!

They offer an amazing dinner buffet packed with flavorful options like biryani, eggplant borani, naan, chicken masala, goat stew, and kabuli polo—plus fresh salad and tasty desserts. It’s a perfect variety that satisfies everyone at the table.

This has become our go-to spot for family dinners and friend gatherings. From their regular menu, I personally love the chicken 65, chicken kabob, and the kabob platter. Last time I was there, I tried their barley soup—and it was absolutely wonderful.

The restaurant is always clean, organized, and has a welcoming vibe. The staff are incredibly kind, polite, and always smiling, which makes the experience even better. They’re attentive and helpful with your order, making you feel truly valued as a guest.

I had the lamb kebab and it was full of flavorabsolutely delicious. The ambience was top-notch and made the whole experience even better.

Angie’s customer service was outstanding. She was very sweet and friendly, and she kept checking on us to make sure we were having a great time. Even though the restaurant was busy, she handled everything calmly and professionally, with a smile on her face.

Overall, the food, ambience, and service were all amazing. This place truly has all three. I highly recommend everyone to visit and try it out.

Best of the best!

First time ordering at this place. The food was absolutely delicious, made with quality fresh ingredients, and generous portions! A warm and genuine owner made the experience so much better. We ordered koobideh kabab, lamb tikka kabab, and jooje kabab, which happened to be our favorite. The yogurt and cucumber side dish was so refreshing and delicious as well. This place is a must try!

This place was used to be an Indian/Pakistani restaurant. It was recently renovated and now serve Pakistani, Afghan-Persian, Mediterranean cuisine. They also have buffet in the afternoon. The restaurant is pretty spacious and clean. We ordered the Goat Biriyani, Chicken Tikka Masala, Garlic Tandoori Naan, Mango lassi, Chai Cardamom, and a kid meal – Joojeh Kabob come with white rice, salad and juice. My favorite was the goat biriyani. Mango lassi was so good that I had to order the second one. The waiter told me that they made mango lassi here from fresh mango, not the mango purée. I didn’t like the chicken tikka masala flavor, it’s just not how I used to. Garlic naan was good and fresh.
Service was friendly, but so slow….. We had to wait quite a while for somebody to take our order, and for our food to come. Then, it took me a while to flag down a waiter to let him know my kid’s juice and the chai cardamom still didn’t come… I guessed they were short staffed?
Overall, the food tasted good, big portions and reasonable price. I’d come back for their mango lassi, chai cardamom and to try more afghan dishes here.

Lal Qila offers an absolutely amazing dining experience! The food was outstanding—authentic, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Their Karhi was perfectly balanced and true to its roots, with that comforting tang and creamy texture only real home-style cooking achieves. The Haleem was equally impressive—rich, hearty, and full of depth, easily one of the best I’ve had anywhere.

The flavors were vibrant but not overpowering, allowing each spice to shine without being too spicy. It’s clear the chefs take pride in their craft and use fresh, high-quality ingredients.

Service was exceptional—attentive, warm, and genuinely welcoming. The staff made us feel like honored guests from the moment we arrived.

The atmosphere was perfect too—elegant yet cozy, with decor that beautifully reflects the cultural fusion of Pakistani, Afghani, and Persian heritage.

Overall, Lal Qila delivers an unforgettable dining experience. If you’re looking for authentic flavors, excellent service, and a perfect ambiance, this is the place to go!
