My wife and I live in Austin,Texas, so I was pretty skeptical about getting Mexican food in Pullman, Washington. But I was very pleasantly surprised! As other have mentioned, it wasn’t as spicy as I’d have liked, but… I’m a jalapeño-eating Texan who grew eating spicy Tex-Mex, so I won’t hold that against them at all.
I had the beef burrito, and it was very solid! Not earth shaking, but definitely yummy. And it was huge, and came with rice and beans. My wife had the beef fajitas, and they were also perfectly good with a large serving.
We’re definitely biased because of where we’re from, but I have zero qualms recommending Ranche Viejo. For Washington State, this is perfectly reasonable Mexican food. I’d come back any time.
The service was also great. Our waiter was super friendly and solicitous. Same with the host – super kind and friendly.
I posted pix of the menu because the menu on Google maps is WAY wrong.

Went to celebrate my daughter‘s bday. We had a reservation for 7 people and she was so looking forward to the birthday song and dessert. When it came time for that they rudely said ‘not tonight we are too busy’. Honestly it would have taken 2 mins for them to do it and the goodwill and customer satisfaction would have gone a long way. I am not interested in going back on future visits. Also they forgot to cook one of the girl’s meals so she had to wait while we all had our dinners.

Great service and excellent food- the guacamole and pico de gallo were fantastic. We had a to-go order for 6 people, and I was surprised to see that they included chips, guacamole and salsa for each meal. Best Mexican restaurant in Pullman!

I really liked my meal, the portion size was very good especially when compared to price. I did have to take a few stars off my review because the first glass I was given had lipstick marks still on the rim. I also had to take stars off because I got very very food sick after eating here and ended up in the ER with what was suspected to be salmonella.

Tried Rancho Viejo on a visit to Pullman. Their food is well executed and portions are good. The plate sizes are enough to feed one and a half small people.
We ordered a couple of different dishes to share, and all were very tasty, but the sides were the same across all the dishes, so I would have liked to see some variety and different techniques to showcase mexican cuisine. Overall though, I would come back to Rancho Viejo if i were in the area.
Service was excellent!

Update: This last time we came in, none of the food was very good. The steak tacos tasted as if the meat was boiled in water and then served with zero seasoning. Gross! The chicken in the soup was so fatty. it was inedible. Even the drinks were mediocre (which is sad because the last time we were there they were fantastic!) Granted, we came in later in the evening on a Friday (we were all exhausted from the day and just needed to grab some dinner), but that’s not an excuse to serve shotty food. That being said, the staff was friendly, and the establishment itself was clean.
Don’t know that I would go back.

We have eaten here a handful of times since moving to Pullman last year. I was surprised by the bad reviews because their food is super consistent. We have ordered lots of different things on the menu and always have been happy. They are also super nice! Definitely will continue visiting!

Literally the worst dining experience I have ever had. Waited for 45 minutes at the door where the hostess repeatedly messed up seating. When finally sat we waited for 20 minutes before we had to ask for a server. The server then took our order and the food took over 45 minutes. We watched several tables who walked in after us eat and leave before we even got our food. After 20 minutes they said our food was next. It took 20 more minutes. When it arrived the food was fine- nothing special. We then had to ask for a ticket cause we were once again ignored. My husband asked to speak to a manager who then said he knew he was mad so wouldn’t come out of the kitchen. You shouldn’t be a manager if you can’t listen to issues. They then told us we were lying about how long everything took and threatened to call the police. It was insane- save you money and save your time and go somewhere else!

Huuuuuge servings of delicious food. The staff were welcoming and dedicated also. I had the “gordo plato” (appetizer) and the “tres compadres.” I also asked for queso blanco dips on the side. All suited my taste.

Overcooked small portions, server seemed more interested in gossiping with another server 2 tables away, typical stereotypical Mexican restaurant atmosphere. Worn out, uncomfortable seats.
