I live across the road so I eat quite often almost every day. I usually get a baguette toasted or a tuna toasted wrap and I love to indulge on the delicious cakes and the fresh orange juice is so delicious. I get that every day no matter what. The community spirit in this cafe is beautiful. I love coming here just to see the staff as they are also lovely and welcoming. They really make my experience so much more enjoyable. I can’t recommend this place enough. It really is my favourite place to eat in Southbank when I’m having lunch or breakfast.
Everything is so Well priced I Actually think the foodie sauce is such a high-quality that it should be more expensive lol . Like I said, I can’t recommend this place enough!

I just had to return to edit my review I made yesterday because I have been eyeing off the cinnamon scrolls that are baked fresh daily, For awhile now…. Well, I finally caved in and got one and they are handsdown the best cinnamon scrolls I’ve ever had!!! So fresh so delicious I’ve already eaten most of it but I’m gonna try and post a photo if I can add a photo as well because they are so yummy!!!
(Even my kitten was trying to eat it) lol

A Treat of France is a tasty stop for fresh, well-made baguettes and great coffee, with the chicken delight particularly standing out. Busy atmosphere but solid overall.

We popped in for a quick bite and were pretty happy with what we got.

Food (4/5):
We ordered the bacon and egg baguette and the chicken delight baguette. The bacon and egg was good but could’ve used a bit of sauce to bring it all together. The chicken delight, on the other hand, was excellent. Plenty of cheese, nice creaminess from the mayo, and just a really well-balanced baguette. We also grabbed a chai latte and it was amazing, smooth, aromatic, and easily one of the highlights.

Service (4/5):
Friendly and efficient. Everything came out quickly despite how busy it was.

Atmosphere (3.5/5):
It’s a popular spot, so it was a bit crowded and loud when we were there. Not the most relaxing dine-in experience, but nothing out of the ordinary for a busy café.

Overall:
Good baguettes, great chai, and a lively setting. Easy recommendation if you’re after a quick, tasty French-style bite.

Food was fantastic – got a s
Couple of tarts and pastries. Nothing was too sweet or heavy, left feeling great.

The service was a bit confused but quick. We ordered with the main cashier and she then passed it onto a seperate person to collect the orders, it had to be confirmed a couple of times with the cashier so probably could have stuck with the one person to save confusion.

Atmosphere was nice but not great. We had ours to take away either way but it wasn’t really a place I would want to stay for a coffee, more of a take away to somewhere else type of food.

All in all, I would return and recommend!

I really love the food here – genuinely some of the best pastries and baguettes in Melbourne. But gosh, the service really lets it down. I’ve been here quite a few times (I live next door) and I’m mostly met with either attitude or indifference, like they’re doing me a biiiiiiiiig favour just by taking my order. It feels so unwelcoming that I’ve stopped eating in altogether – I can only tolerate takeaway. I want to keep coming back for the food, but the vibe at the counter makes it hard.
