We were big fans of Foxhole for many years, this was our first time since the new owners. The place looked great inside, clean, new tables, but still that same Foxhole vibe. Service was decent, drinks arrived with straws already in the glass, not a huge fan of others unwrapping and placing my straw in my drink. Appetizers were decent but nothing special, and the pizza wasn’t the same pizza that we used to get at Foxhole. So that was sad, we were really looking forward to the pizza. It wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t the same. Overall a decent place to hang out and have some bar food, but if you’re expecting the old Foxhole pizza, it’s not there.

As a McHenry resident, I can honestly say Foxhole Pizza is one of our local gems! The staff is always so friendly and welcoming — you can tell they genuinely appreciate their customers and love what they do.
The pizza is absolutely amazing. Perfect crust, great flavor, and always made fresh. It’s the kind of place you keep coming back to because you know it’s going to be consistently good every time.
The restaurant itself is always clean and well kept, which makes dining in even more enjoyable. And bingo night is such a fun bonus! It’s a great way to bring the community together and adds something extra that you don’t find just anywhere.
If you’re in McHenry and haven’t tried Foxhole Pizza yet, you’re missing out! Highly recommend!

Servers are inexperienced. Have patience. The pizza style is great. Thin crust. Sweet sauce. But the pepperoni quality is terrible. I recommend only eating their sausage toppings and choosing their CLASSIC. Mushrooms onion, green pepper, sausage. All the other pizzas tasted pretty bad, like the ingredients tasted off.

Amazing girls’ night at Foxhole Pizza, first timers! We had drinks, apps, pizza, and dessert, everything was delicious. The atmosphere was fun and relaxed, perfect for catching up and laughing all night. Emily was the absolute best and made our night even better with great service. Can’t wait to come back!

Found this restaurant through Clipp. Drove around the block with Google directions and kept passing it by thinking it was a hotel until we parked down the block and saw the sign on the corner leading us below the building. We found our way into the restaurant and Kayla gave us a warm greeting and invited us to choose where we would like to sit. It was in-between lunch and dinner time. We both chose the Italian Beef Deluxe with fries. There were some nice happy hour appetizers offered, but didn’t order any thinking we would have enough with the sandwiches. We were happy with our choices and saw some other things on the menu that we would like to try. No complaints whatsoever and Kayla gave us top notch personable and attentive service. She let us know that there was free bingo later that night. Nice cozy atmosphere and food was well presented. Posted photos are of the sandwich and current menu of April 2025.

Very cool place! It’s like a secret passage. It reminds me of Cheers! Everybody knows everybody and they are so welcoming to anybody and everybody. The food is delicious and I keep finding new stuff to try that I may have overlooked the last time I was there. Bingo on Thursday night and karaoke on Saturday night is always a good time.

I mean it was pizza but it was incredibly bland and soggy. Maybe in the restaurant is a better experience but I’m super bummed. Not to mention the delivery driver must have dropped the pizzas or taken a turn on 2 wheels or something because I have never seen a pizza quite so in a heap upon delivery before. Would have given one star but that felt too mean.

I’m new to the area, went to foxhole looking forward to apps and pizza when the chicken tenders we ordered came to us black, mushrooms were fine but tenders were black told the waitress to take them back the owner (Kevin) acted like a 12 year old took our chicken tenders to another table to complain that we were not wanting black tenders. We asked for our check and left. The service was amazing from Jenna but clean your fryers dude or cut your chicken thinner (they will cook and not burn) I will never return because of Kevin and his behavior and he’s the father of my nephews best friend.

Overall a mediocre pizza! The atmosphere of the basement and the deco was top notch. Had to come back and edit this review after ordering over the phone. Being the most expensive pizza in town can be okay, but only if it truly is the best one in town. Ordered a pizza 50/50 pep & then vege. With meat. Got charged for ALL 5 toppings (whole). ATLEAST send me the other half in a to go cup next time? Then my other pizza I was charged double for my toppings. Cool, if you GAVE ME double toppings. Went from a raving 5 star to a two star and won’t be returning for awhile. If you want a good pizza honest sales tactics and good atmosphere try buddyz or jexals. I suggest the manager correct these types of things especially now that the tourism slows down for the fall and winter.
