Bistro La Source is a great spot near Grove Street. The crab and avocado with gaufrette potatoes is excellent and has a very clean, crisp flavor. I also really liked the lemon artichoke risotto because the citrus keeps the dish from feeling too heavy. It is a comfortable place to eat and has a nice atmosphere inside.

Very good taste of foods, been a fans of them since 2021, really like the short rib and the cassoule. They got pre fix menu now, really amazing

I had a craving for risotto and wanted to in particular have an option for a seafood one. So, I found this place on Ubereats with a high rating which I verified over Google as well and it had a good rating. Based on that I went ahead and placed an order for a Local Tomato and Jersey peach salad, Crab and shrimp risotto and Bittersweet chocolate mousse. The salad was very average which had these huge croutons with tiny pieces of peach and cherry tomatoes. Very average and not at tasty as the proportions were off. For $16 that they are charging over the platform, it honestly was thievery. The crab and shrimp risotto was terrible. They had added celery which was not cooked off. It was raw and every bite had that terrible crunchy raw celery taste. There was barely any crab and the shrimps were over cooked and rubbery. Not to forget the portions are an absolute robbery! This was applicable to both the risotto and the salad. The mousse was average and palatable. But again nothing great. One of the worst food experiences and I would never order from this place again. For a bill of $68.89, this was one of the worst meals I have had in recent times. I highly recommend not ordering from this place.

A solid French bistro with all the classics you’d expect—nothing groundbreaking, but honestly, very good Parisian comfort food. We started with the duck liver foie gras and toast, which was rich and flavorful. I had the steak frites, and it was spot-on—tender, perfectly cooked, and generously portioned.

The ambiance was warm and relaxed—not overly fancy, just a great place for good food and good conversation. I went with a few friends, and the atmosphere made it easy to unwind and enjoy.

If you’re looking for a casual French bistro in Jersey City, this one definitely hits the mark. I’d recommend it.

This is one of the best restaurants in Jersey City! The food is fantastic. Ambiance and service is great. My wife ordered the Escargot and the Lyonaise Salad with Duck Confit, both of which she loved. They have a great prix fixe menu which I ordered from. I had the Onion Soup, the Beef Short Rib Bourgenion, and the pear tart for dessert. They were all wonderful. Definitely worth a visit here.

Great atmosphere, the food was solid but I wasn’t blown away. I felt the duck entree could use a bit more work when it comes to the sides and was perhaps over rested for me. The coq au vin blank was excellent. Many great options on the menu I would like to come back and try.

Hidden gem!!

Food is excellent and the service is phenomenal. Went on a Sunday evening, the Coq au Vin was exceptional and the service was great – attentive without being overbearing! Atmosphere is as good as you can get being located on ground floor at a Grove Street office building. Will definitely come back again.

Cute place for brunch. Small interior but large patio. Mussels were delicious. Seafood salad is okay, refreshing but a little bland. Loved the dessert though. There’s street parking.

We had a lovely evening here. The restaurant is very small and cozy inside, but they pack the tables in and the servers are wonderful. I got the pumpkin ravioli – which was really nice to see on the menu outside of autumn – and a lemon drop martini. My fiancé also got an amaretto sour that was delicious.

Service was excellent, food was so special! The grilled octopus was SO good, definitely a must. Their onion soup is awesome tops
We had the seafood stew which was perfection.
I wish they have more bread options like whole wheat rich bread, but that’s only me 🙂
