Tepuy Donuts shop is awesome! The donuts are tasty and flavorful. We ordered one of each donut as it was our firt- time there. Customer service was great and welcoming. Parking is limited. When you get to the shop, be careful making the right turn, it’s tight and at a blind spot. The environment inside is earthy and whimsical. We would definitely come back for their specials!

I’m a donut guy with the belly to prove it. It is my mission to find the best donut in the Triangle and beyond. Tepuy Donuts was our next stop. We stopped here around 8 am on a Saturday and they had plenty of selection. The thing that blew me away was the creativity. The unique and interesting flavor pairs on combos was something I hadn’t found locally.
We ordered a mixed dozen which came to over $34?!?! For that price, I’m expecting perfection. Unfortunately the donuts fell a little flat. I prefer a soft, tender donut and consistently across all the flavors there was more chew than I would have liked. I think this is partially due to the size of the donut requiring a longer fry creating a tougher donut (as evidenced by the dark color). In addition, across all the flavors the overwhelming taste was sugar. There was so much glaze it was hard to pick up some of the more delicate flavors. No If you had given me my go to chocolate iced donut blindfolded I don’t think I could have told you it was chocolate. I would dial down the sweetness a touch and let the flavors shine.
A quick comment about the service: the person taking our order wasn’t super friendly. Not rude but also kind of like we were bothering her even though we were the only ones there. If I’m dropped $30+ on a dozen, at least throw me a good morning or something.
With that being said, I still go back to the creativity of the flavor pairings. The salted caramel was perfect level of salty. Like cracking open a cold water bottle that’s been in the cooler at the beach all day. It just hits HARD but not too hard. The mango tajin was my personal favorite. Reduce the sweetness and give me a more tender donut and we are looking at a top 3 donut.

The donuts were immaculate, the yeasted dough is so light and airy with a satisfying outer crisp. The flavors were spot on, even the more “out there” flavors like mango and tajin and hibiscus. They’ve really nailed the sweet and sour combo. My favorite of this visit was the hibiscus, not only is this donut perfect for the inner food blogger it also tastes amazing. The tartness of the hibiscus glaze with visible berry bits compliments the sugary sweetness of the glaze. We also tried the lemon poppy seed and the bacon with ghost cheese custard. We paired the donuts with a matcha and a cold brew. The matcha was ceremonial grade and I added lavender, by far the best match I’ve had in the triangle. The only reason it gets four stars in atmosphere is because the shop is small and feels crowded when even slightly busy. We took our sips and sweets and enjoyed them in the lovely weather on their patio for a wonderful midday hang.

One of the best fresh baked, Brioche bread bacon, egg and cheese sandwich with arubula and garlic aoli I believe and definitely cannot go wrong with a plain Yummy glazed donut. Coffee excellent. Last minute thought of adding a picture of the sandwich. It doesn’t do its service.I’ll add my better one next time.

Most of the donuts were sold out when I showed up at 1pm but I got 2 cinnamon rolls and cinnamon sugar donut/pastry thing. Cinnamon rolls were amazing! Cream cheese frosting and dough cooked just right. Cinnamon thing was good, bigger but lighter dough. Very unique.

8/19/2025 08:30- My 3rd visit at Tepuy’s. Well worth the drive from Durham… -that too from a (2 out of 3) 12h night shift. I was craving for their Dubai Chocolate Donut. As always, was given the freshest batch… people at the counter are really pleasant too, all smiles.
Also tried (now a fav) Mango Tajin which refreshed my palate.
All other flavors i tried are equally flavorful.

I have never tasted donuts so soft and flavorful. The cinnamon roll has real cream cheese, the apple fritter has real apples. This place is incredible and is our new go-to for treats. Simon the patio and grab a cold brew. No notes!!

I’ll start by saying i’m NOT a huge donut girl, but my husband wanted to give this place a shot so I tried a classic (chocolate glazed) and wow did Tepuy change my mind. We have tried so many of the various flavors and they’re all amazing, but that chocolate glazed donut is the best donut of my life.
Also the sandwiches, DONT MISS OUT. The classic italian it probably one of my favorite sandwiches in existence, but they are all so great. We LOVE this spot and hope it gets the hype it deserves, it certainly does in our home!
