The food ranges from absolutely delicious to works of art. Cannot say enough good things about this menu. Appetizers, soups, dumplings, wraps, deserts and the home made cherry drink are all done with care and attention to detail.
The eating space is a little crammed and the chairs are too big to fit under the tables which is a quirk.
The service is incredibly kind and helpful. Only knock is it’s a bit slow because they generally only have 2 people doing everything.
Definitely recommend this as a top place to eat in the city. Just come in ready to take your time and enjoy.

We had an amazing experience at Chaykhana! Every employee was extremely kind, friendly and helpful, and it was clear they wanted to give us a great experience. To start, we orderered the Kazakh Baursak, which seemed to essentially be small unsweetened donuts with a side of cream to pour over them, and they were amazing. This was VERY affordable and could have satisfied 4 or more people in my opinion. We also got a chicken samsa to split and it was delicious. For entrees, we ordered the Plov, which is a famous national dish, and the Lagman, which is a beef and pepper noodle soup. Both were excellent with great flavor and cooked perfectly. I am not from Pittsburgh, but when I’m back, I absolutely will return. Please check them out and support a unique local business!

Very good food for decent price. Tried the beef samsa, beet hummus, uzbek plov, creamy lamb, and dolma. You can get the taste of cumin, but not in a disturbing way. It also seemed very busy, perhaps over 20 different parties plus pickup orders over 1.5 hours. Would visit again and recommend it.

Excellent service and very good food. The Uzbek plov served with uzbek bread and tomato salad was delicious. We also tried and enjoyed the cheburek – which is a pastry filled with minced meat. The hummus was ok. The noodles in the lagman soup were very good, but the broth was not a flavor I liked. Overall good food and we would definitely go back for the plov.

First and foremost, the food was delicious! Despite lots of travel, I hadn’t really had central Asian food before. The dishes were unique and plentiful. On the pricier end but nothing unreasonable in 2026. The atmosphere was strange. Felt like a library despite being almost full. The service was quick but kind of cold. Whole place could use some warmth. But, admittedly small details to the overall experience. I’d definitely come back.

Chaykhana was an absolutely amazing Uzbek food experience. They were so busy and I couldn’t be happier for them! The fried pelmeni was a 10/10. We sampled a bit of everything and would recommend all of it! You can’t go wrong and the staff are beyond nice. Prices are great too. Go out and support them!

Top notch attentiveness and hospitality, and amazing food! Definitely one of the best restaurants in Pittsburgh! Plov, Pelmeni, and cheburek are my favorites. Oh and get a Kompot alongside! I wish they had Turkish style dumplings as well in their menu, that would be the cherry on top

I had an excellent experience at Chayhana Restaurant. The food was incredibly flavorful — especially the plov and kebabs, which were cooked perfectly and served hot. The atmosphere is warm and relaxing, and you can feel the traditional hospitality from the moment you walk in. The staff is attentive, polite, and always ready to help with recommendations. Prices are fair for the quality you get. I will definitely return and highly recommend this place to anyone who loves Central Asian cuisine.

One of the best food I had in US! Better than most of “Mediterranean” restaurants. If you like smaller size manti highly recommended pelmeni. Tasty broth and perfect filling. And the kebab.. you do not need a knife, it melted in my mouth. All salad and greens were fresh. Can’t wait to revisit
