It’s was 95 degree inside wouldn’t on the air condition . This place use to be good I’m not sure what happened the quality went down and the prices went up with less quantity of food. The suya should be cheaper . If you know suya and have gotten it in Nigeria or even in Houston, you know the street vendor don’t give fat they trim em. They give beef with lots of fat and onion for $15.99 plus tax for a small box. They don’t want to give extra seasoning I had to nearly pull teeth for a side of suya spice. I ordered jollof rice as well. The jollof rice looked nice but it just tasted scorched they should have made a new batch or took it off menu . It was dry now tomatoe flavor, seasoning . It was ask if I was eating orange burnt white rice. This place has to do a 360 turn around soon. I wanted to order other items but it was like playing chess. I was told you can’t get certain items solo. When everything is in front of you. The fish only can be order with soup or rice you can’t order it by itself. At this rate and service it will be hard to keep business when staff arugues with customer trying to make a order

I ordered a plate of cassava leaf with chicken, rice, and plantains from Samoha African Cuisine, and it was extremely disappointing. The chicken was dry, the cassava leaf had no flavor other than palm oil, and the plantains were hard as a rock. I called the restaurant right after to share my concern and was told by a young man to come back for a refund. When I returned the next day, the woman I spoke with took the food to the back, but then the same young man said, “We don’t do refunds,” even though nothing was posted in the restaurant stating that policy. The owner later spoke to me by phone and continued to dismiss my request, offering more food instead of honoring the refund their staff originally agreed to. I found the customer service unprofessional and the food quality unacceptable. I won’t be returning and wouldn’t recommend this place to others.

This was my first experience eating there, and although the food was really delicious for the amount I paid the portion size were very disappointing. I paid $35 for the goat pepper soup, aside of fufu, and a side jollof rice. The pepper soup was in a pint container with little actual goat meat just mostly tripe, the jollof rice was in a small to-go side container & the fufu was a regular sized. I’m use to going to Royal African cuisine, but since they’re open only two days a week now I went to this place and the portion sizes are dramatically different. Probably will not be returning just because I know there’s places that are more generous, that taste just as good for the same price or cheaper

I used to live in Charlotte and often ordered from Samoha, so I was excited to revisit an old favorite while in town. Unfortunately, my experience on 2/26 was beyond disappointing. I spent nearly $30 ordering through Uber Eats, expecting the same quality I remembered.

In the past, I was able to order Egusi soup with fish, but this time, I was only offered beef and chicken. The beef was overcooked, and the entire dish had an unbearable smell—so much so that I couldn’t get past it and had to throw everything away. I even tried tasting it, thinking it might be in my head, but I couldn’t stomach it.

Since I travel for work and had a flight back to New York at 3 PM, my friend reached out to the restaurant on my behalf. Instead of offering a solution, they responded with attitude and insisted that the food be brought back to the store—completely disregarding the fact that I had ordered via Uber Eats and was no longer in Charlotte.

This experience was frustrating and disappointing, especially as a loyal customer who once enjoyed their food. I really hope they do better in maintaining freshness and customer service because this was unacceptable.

Ladies behind counter were more than nice. They took time to explain the selection process and the choices available. It was our first time visiting. We had the stewed beef and the tripe. I’d said both were okay but not amazing. The jollof rice wasn’t spicy at all. The efo-riro was very nice. Everything needed more salt to suit my tastes, but I usually like more salt than is good for anyone so take that comment … with a grain of salt. ( ) The rice portions were huge. The care with which they packaged the to-go dishes was great. I would go again. I’d just have to adjust for more salt and spice for my pallette. But very good overall. Thanks much!

I’m was a big customer to this company loved their food. Today I ordered and the pic I’m posting it my food. There is little to nothing in the bowl it looks like someone pinched of my fufu. The pic is exactly how it came. I am disappointed because I try to support local businesses and I dislike giving bad reviews but I’m hungry and can’t eat this ‍♀️

Stewed beef and pounded yam was great. Other people in the party were happy too with their orders of ground nut chicken. All containers were either plastic or Styrofoam though. I was there for my second visit and ordered jollof rice and beef stew. The food was just average. It cane with no greens even. I second the comments in the Irma Tate review below for the same day about the beef and the gentleman.

wonderful and delicious food, but small portion size. I have grown to love this restaurant, and i’ve had several of there items. For the amt of 30 dollars, I would like a larger portion. This food is suppose to be for 2 adults, but I have the feeling, That I will still be hungry afterwards. Yes I will continue to eat there. Really nice group of ladies working there.
