We just found one of the best authentic Italian restaurants in Kill Devil Hills. They serve great food made with fresh and homemade ingredients. The calzone and meatballs are the best! Also, the calamari is a must try (not in picture). 10/10 will recommend!

This is my new favorite restaurant for authentic Italian cuisine and also pizza! I dined in one night and had the ravioli of the day which was braised beef. The ravioli was incredible, perfect ravioli pasta dough, flavorful and tender braised beef, and delicious robust marinara sauce. I absolutely loved the ravioli but then…. I tried a bite of my father’s pizza. Max’s pizza has become my absolute #1 pizza I have ever had in my entire life. Since Max’s was so good, we ordered food for delivery again. The delivery was very fast and the food arrived fresh and hot. I will eat at Max’s every chance I get, and you won’t be disappointed if you do too!

Very very disappointing… The food was not good unfortunately. The critters were burnt and was all dough with like 2 pieces of pepperoni.. practically no cheese. My 2 year old wanted spaghetti and meatballs… they wait till they bring us food to say they were out of meatballs and instead just gave meat crumbled in sauce?? We had 2 orders of fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. Chicken had no seasoning and sauce was not good. Neither of my kids ate their bowls. I ordered the Philly cheese steak. It was okay. Nothing special but not horrible. The only thing that was amazing. The figgy pizza. My wife loved it.. The family and I have already stated we will not being going back here. We wish we read the reviews before we went or we would not have gone. We had the sake bad experience as the others. I would recommend going somewhere else.

I had in 2 visits the lasagna and the barbecue chicken pizza. The lasagna was so fresh tasting and it’s one of the best lasagnas I have had. It made for great leftovers too for work the next day at Target. Definitely good warmed up in the microwave. The pizza was nice and crispy. Very flavorful. The staff is very nice and the restaurant is clean. I highly recommend this place. I think any item on their menu is of the highest quality. I’m glad my friend Casey at Target recommended that place.

This is our first time here at Max’s and we loved it! I don’t know why we never came here before. Great food and service. We got the 3 cheese ravioli with (house made) basil pesto, chicken parm, penne with Italian sausage and chicken fettuccine Alfredo. We were all stuffed and had no room for dessert. Highly recommend and worth the wait.

Lived on the beach 50yrs…seen great pizza come and go. All our “go-tos” have been lately disappointing as passed to new hands. Max’s is new to us, so we tried. We were so impressed and happy for a place of good pizza again…crust great, pizza full with everything advertised and delicious sausage. They raised the bar over local “go-tos”. We ordered out, but my husband said it was A great atmosphere for dining.

Delicious food and the staff was so friendly and fun. My niece and I split spaghetti with marinara sauce, sausage and meatballs. Ordered the bruschetta and it was DELICIOUS! I make my own bruschetta and no other can usually compare but this did! We also split a Caesar salad. Nice surprise for a small, strip mall restaurant.
