Chain Bridge Cellars is such a hidden gem in the area! Their free wine tastings every Friday and Saturday are one of my favorite things – they make it so easy and fun to try new wines and discover bottles I never would’ve picked up on my own. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable without ever being pushy, and they always have great recommendations at different price points.
The shop is well-organized, welcoming, and has a fantastic selection. Stopping by during a weekend tasting is the best way to figure out what you’ll actually enjoy drinking at home, and they make it super easy to grab a bottle of whatever you liked. Highly recommend for wine lovers, casual sippers, and anyone looking to explore new wines!

My wife and I came here last Saturday after visiting a nearby store, and we are so glad that we did! We were greeted at the door and invited to take a tour of the store. Our guide was quite knowledgeable and welcoming. I consider this a unique experience that goes well beyond most places in the area, and we loved it! We were then invited to try some of the wines that were being poured. What a fantastic experience. We will be back again this weekend!

Wow, I’m rarely floored by stores exceeding expectations but this is one of them. I happen to find this local wine shop online. I saved more than 30 dollars on the case of wine that I was about to have shipped from CA, they delivered it for free, and gave me some great recommendations for cheese and craft beer that I also tried that was also great and different than the norm at a good price. Plus Greg was so nice and personable that I feel like I have a personal wine steward. He sent me some personal recommendations tailored to my taste. I would definitely recommend and will be using them again.

The best wine store in McLean! We’ve been going to Chain Bridge Cellars for years, going back to when it was called Cecile’s Wine Cellar. They have a very knowledgeable staff that we trust for recommendations, and they don’t try to steer you to expensive selections. They also keep your purchases on file, so if you can’t remember the name of a particular wine you liked, they can help refresh your memory. And if they no longer have it in stock, they can help you find something similar. They have also teamed up with local restaurants to do special tasting dinners, an excellent way to discover some new wines, or pairings that you might not think of. Lately, with the COVID-19, we have asked them to deliver. Outstanding service!

Great local shop with attentive and knowledgeable staff. The wine classes are fun and the weekend tastings are a great way to try new wines before purchasing. Those are on hold due to the pandemic right now but I look forward to being able to visit inside the shop again. They have great value wines that are less expensive as well as high-end wines if you are looking for that as well.

They spare no expense helping you select wines to match your needs and taste. We stopped in for a bottle and left with 6, and all have been exactly as describe and great value. We had been fans of “other” stores and now will always go back. In particular Nancy was helpful, energetic, knowledgeable and tired to keep us from buying so much. We will definitely be back and try some of their wine classes. They have value wines and high-end wines with a small selection of good cheese. If you live in or near Mclean, you need to experience this store for yourself
