This pizza is the best I’ve had in a long time. The pesto pizza had fresh mozzarella and tomatoes (a treat!) and was served piping hot. The crust was well done, but I can’t think of many people who would call it thin. The bacon and sprout pizza was also really nicely done. Either of those pizzas could have fed two people who weren’t giant pigs. All around great experience.

Must try place in buffalo!! The pizza is pretty good! Don’t expect it to be as good as new york or chicago pizza but it’s pretty good for buffalo! My favorite would be the detroit style pepperoni pizza just because it had a nice crunch and fluffiness to it plus it was full of flavor. Then i’d say would come the nduja followed by the corn and chillis then the margherita. The last two just lacked some flavor for me. The line does get long and they’re not open for that long so make sure you plan accordingly. I’d say it was worth the wait. Definitely check it out if you’re nearby. Would come back again!

The restaurant is a small cozy spot with about 10 tables that gives off a warm and welcoming vibe. We came around 5pm on a Saturday and the place was buzzing with energy. Parking is on the street and we waited about 30 minutes for a table of 2 – well worth it.
The salad portion was surprisingly generous and packed with flavor. We tried both the Neapolitan and Square pizzas and they were absolutely delicious- perfectly balanced and fresh. The service was excellent- friendly and attentive which made the experience even better. Didn’t get to try their Tiramisu – sold out!
Because of the limited space, I wouldn’t recommend bringing a large party – four people max feels just right. Overall, it was perfect setting for a casual date with incredible pizzas. Highly recommend!

Been wanting to try this place because of the hype of best pizza in the world !! Got take out and the pizzas were good, very nice flavor BUT I wish we ate them there. I think this is a food that is best eaten straight from the oven. We got the hot cherry Detroit pizza, Nduja, and prosciutto arugula. They each had entirely different and satisfying flavor profiles between the cheese and toppings. All on a base of perfectly cooked dough that held its own against the bold toppings! Delicious but definitely eat there!!

Overall not bad, taste was ok. They are freshly baked. But not a fan of the burnt sides. I was skeptical to place an order after 7pm afraid of them closing at 8pm, but when I got there to pickup was surprised the place was still packed 5-10mins before closing. I guess you can dine-in or order online until cutoff time of 8pm??

My husband and I went on a date night to Jay’s and the food was incredible! We enjoyed every single bite of the pizza and salad. Unfortunately, we did not leave room for dessert and will have to come back for the tiramisu (we heard that was also amazing). I’m still thinking about the incredible pizza! I would highly recommend coming!

To note, there is not a ton of tables to eat in the restaurant. We came at a great time and were able to be seated right away. They do takeout as well.

This was my first time at Jay’s, after hearing really good things about it. Jay’s did not disappoint, it is by far the best brick oven pizza in Buffalo, I had the arugula and prosciutto neopolitan and the hot cherry pepper Detroit style. Both crusts were fantastic, all the veggies are locally sourced and ingredients are imported from Italy, what a difference this makes in the fresh and delicious taste of these pizzas. It’s the type of pizza, where you don’t want to stop chewing.

In addition to the great pizza, Jay’s has a Wayland pilsner made for them, went great with the pizza, also had the marinated olives, better than wegmans.

The staff was top notch, very interactive with the customers.

If you haven’t been to Jay’s, what are you waiting for, highly recommended!

Adding to the Buffalo metro area’s food dominance is Jay’s Artisan Pizzeria, which in July 2025 was ranked #4 in the U.S and #28 in the world.

Jay’s is located in the suburb of Kenmore, roughly 5 blocks or so from the Buffalo city line. Parking in the area can be hit or miss depending on when you come, but a decent amount of street parking exists.

The restaurant space, while small, is efficiently utilized. The decor is subtly stylish and the music promotes an upbeat theme that reflects the artistic element of the food. The service is excellent as the servers are personable and knowledgeable about the menu.

Now, I know what you’re thinking. Are the Bills gonna win the big one this year? Not that question. The real one is how’s the pizza? That’s a multi-layered one. Buffalo is a food city, specifically pizza. It has some of the best pizza in the country (ranked #4 as a pizza city for the analytics community). So, with that said, Jay’s does not pretend to offer traditional Buffalo style pizza.

Jay’s is a high-end artisan pizzeria focusing on highlighting traditonal elements of both Neopolitan and Detroit style pizza. The focus is on technique and quality ingredients, which creates a lighter version of pizza with a clean flavor profile.

In other words, this is the opposite of Buffalo style, which is heavy, oily, and packed with big flavors. Verdict? For what Jay’s is going for I think it hits the mark. The ingredients really sing as their quality is highlighted. Adding some red pepper flakes really set it off for me and facilitated another dimension of flavor. Also, the technique towards handling and baking the dough to create a crust with great texture is evident.

How does if stack up against traditional Buffalo pizzerias? Subjective question, but my own preference leans towards traditional Buffalo style just due to pizza for me representing ooey gooey goodness.

Jay’s is definitely worth the experience, especially for those who may prefer a higher-end and cleaner version of pizza. Bonus, the pricing is actually pretty reasonable as well, especially in today’s economy. Enjoy!

Have you ever had a restaurant on your “to try” list for an outrageous amount of time and then you finally try it and realize your delay has caused you to really miss out? Jay’s is that for me. First, logistics: street parking was plentiful, but even for an early dinner on a Friday night there was a small wait- so plan accordingly! We waited about fifteen minutes for a table for four and were quoted twenty which I loved. Each pizza is about the size of a personal size pizza and we used the strategy of four pizzas to four people and we ate WELL. We also got the salad which honestly was unreasonably good and sized to share (again 1 for four of us was plenty)- what is happening with those tomatoes? Whatever it was, I kept coming back because they were SO delicious. Favorite pizza came back to taste, but the fig jam pizza (ordered without meat, easily, for the vegetarian in our mix) was my for sure favorite. I would never order a margarita pizza but it was addictively good. I also loved the Nduja, which had only a little spice (I would have loved more) and the pesto, which was my least favorite but still great- and others in my party liked it best. We are on a dinner club tour this year trying a new restaurant each month and the bar is so high with Jay’s being in January- can’t wait to go back!

Now right off the bat I need to admit that Neapolitan and Detroit are toward the bottom of my favorite styles of pizza.

I came here bc everyone raves about how great it is and as far the Detroit goes it was definitely in the top 10 that I have tried. Very nice sauce and crust but the frico was disappointing and that’s really the best part about Detroit style pizza. The Neapolitan was impressive for America but really nothing transcendent or special.

I would love to see them make a Buffalo style pie since I also tried a few of those on my trip and they were amazing. I think a version of that with this level of ingredients and pizzaiolo skills would actually be something worth the hype and be something truly special. Embrace your hometown, it’s a unique style that is far superior to Detroit. Rather than waiting in line here I would highly recommend checking out places that make Buffalo style.

In the meantime if you really really love either of those styles of pizza this is probably the best you can get if you are in Buffalo but isn’t anything unique or special compared to what’s available back down in NYC.
