Ordered some dumplings as a starter – average at best.
Ordered their most expensive shared plate – whole barramundi fried with apple salad.
The dish came out on a single plate with 2 forks (no knives). Waitress disappeared very quickly.
The fish was seriously over-fried.
Attempted to separate the fish meat from fish frame with a fork and was left with a very tiny portion of meat and large amount of overly fried bones, head, and skin.
Definitely not what I’d expect for a “shared plate”.
I returned the dish and requested a simple nasi goreng off the shared menu instead. Received no apologies from the staff, instead they were quite rude about it.
Nasi goreng was served with a pile of prawn crackers on the plate – see photo after eating less than half of the nasi goreng. I took this as an insult from the chef. The dish wasn’t that great either.
Wife ordered a margarita which was well below average.
The beer on tap wasn’t too bad.
Pretty disappointing experience overall.
The young girls providing service need some training.
I won’t comment on the chefs skills.

One of those rare places where every dish hits. The flavours are bold balanced and clearly cooked with care no shortcuts. Staff were so professional and kind and was welcoming from the moment I walked in. Service is warm and effortless and you leave already planning your next visit. Truly special Thai food. I highly recommend this place.

We recently celebrated a birthday here with a table of six, and unfortunately the experience was quite disappointing.

From the moment we arrived, the stairwell leading up to the restaurant was in need of a thorough clean, which didn’t create a great first impression. After checking in at the top of the stairs, we were simply pointed toward our table rather than being shown to it, there were no other patrons waiting to be seated, early booking, not many there.

There was a stack of plates sitting on every table, and every single plate on ours was visibly dirty. We ended up going to another table to find a cleaner stack ourselves. The bottle of chilli sauce sitting on the table had dried, caked-on clumps all around the neck & cap, which was quite off-putting, and the cutlery basket needed attention as there were only two sets of chopsticks for a table of six.

The dinner menu as shown on their website had items that were not on their current menu, and we were told the menu online hasn’t been updated in over 12 months. It would be helpful if this was kept current to avoid confusion and disappointment.

Half of the dishes were tasty enough, however, the coconut rice was mush, the prawn crackers served with the fried rice were old, soft and inedible, and the Massaman beef was quite tough.

The ladies’ bathroom was in an unacceptable state — feminine hygiene wrapping about, used paper towels scattered around the hand basins, and the bin full and overflowing onto the floor. It really doesn’t take much for a staff member to pop in occasionally to check that the bathroom is clean and presentable, especially in a restaurant that is so highly recommended. Regular checks throughout the night would make a significant difference to the overall experience.

To add to this, there was also a 30% surcharge applied for a Sunday night.

Overall, while some of the food was enjoyable, the cleanliness and overall presentation of the venue really let the experience down, especially given it was for a special occasion.

Loved the food and service, especially my pink chopsticks
We had the chicken wings with a sticky sauce, which we enjoyed and rice paper roll with prawn. The dipping sauce was delicious!! For mains we had the Prawn Curry with white rice. Really tasty and not over spiced.
Friendly staff and great atmosphere

10/10 highly recommend! Honestly the best cocktails I’ve ever had in my life. The new matcha range is soooo tasty! I’ve been here so many times – for lunch, dinner and also for drinks – and every time it’s consistently amazing. Shoutout to our bartenders for the service – especially Tristan! 🙂

Amazing food in an awesome atmosphere. Maew Maew delivered on all fronts with an extensive cocktail and mocktail list, we tried one of each and were very impressed. Food had that “traditional taste with new age presentation”. The Philo style pork belly was phenomenal, butter chicken was deliciously well portioned with a soft and delectable side of rice and bread. Staff were amazingly attentive, ensuring we were seen to our reserved seat instantly, checked on between drinks and had plenty of space during our meal. We will be back Maew Maew, you were an incredible experience!

Impressed. Neat and vibrant atmosphere, I didnt know what to expect apart from “yeah it was good” from peer reviews. I wouldnt call it fine dining, although the food was exceptional. Plenty of variety in the menu (modern asian) shanghai pork dumplings, sticky sweet chicken wings, nasi goreng pork belly, thai green curry chicken, pickled mixed veges with a pa tong go (thai sweet donuts) plenty for the 2 os us to share (+leftovers) drinks/cocktails were nice too. Pricing is standard for what youd expect for a night out and a few drinks (4 shots, 2 local beers and a cocktail) all up <$200 for our dinner and drinks. Definitely coming back to try the rest of the menu. Notes: our reservation was 17:30PM Sat night for 2, quiet upon areival, then got very busy before we left at 19:00PM. Good vibe background music and great staff, professional and presentable.

First time here, we have been wanting to try after watching it being build. Food was delicious generous servings and well priced. We will be back. We had prawn Penang juicy and tender and lots of them the soup was delish, the papaya salad was just right we also had a barramundi salad loved the combo with the apple could probably have had some pear to sweeten it up and the barramundi was a little over cooked. Service was average not overly attentive we waited a wile to order as a number of service staff passed us by…. Not bad but…. We will be back with reinforcements. Also will send some more people your way. Just hold back on the fry time for the barra and have the servers provide some service like fill up the water glasses etc.

We had a group of 10 so the $60 banquet was chosen. The food was great! Delicious and plentiful. The individual round tables pulled together to seat us, not so great. We chose the later sitting time of 7.30pm so we wouldn’t be rushed. Seemed to make no difference as the chairs were put up in empty tables as people left, the vacuuming and mopping of floors around us just too much, very rude. We had to ask for the bill. If you wanted us to leave wait staff could approach & ask if we wanted anything else, or explain that the bar was now closed etc. We thought you were open until 1am??? Not a nice way to finish up what was a lovely meal.
