THEY DO TAKE CREDIT CARDS even though their sign says cash only. They do charge a .75cent fee for any card used. This was my first time visiting and I took my father who is a Vietnam veteran. This old classic burger hop was right up his alley. We got a large peanut butter and peach milkshake and they were both delicious. The burgers were much larger than I thought they would be. I had the chili cheeseburger, onion rings, and the peach milkshake. All were excellent and fresh! My children enjoyed their crunchy fresh french fries and all their burgers. The triple cheeseburger is huge! The only thing that we probably would not order again is the grilled cheese and ham and the grilled cheese. I recommend getting any of their other burgers. I might try their chicken sandwich next time. Worth a try and very nostalgic.

Saw good reviews, so decided to have a lunch there. Chili cheese burger was great! Fries are good but not salty for my taste. Strawberry milkshake was okay . Only outside tables, if you pay by card there is a fee.

Sam’s Burgers is a family favorite!
We’ve been coming here for years and still can’t get enough. The burgers are always fresh, juicy, and full of flavor. It’s a spot we all agree on! We even had the pleasure of meeting their sweet grandson the other day. We love supporting this amazing local business. Always a great experience!

Always a great meal and good service. This place is tucked back away from the street a little but the sign is visible from either direction. The menu is simple and typical of a classic burger joint. Prices are very reasonable. Highly reccomend this place.

He makes the best burgers and banana shakes ever.. I’ve been visiting Sam’s for years, since he first started with Rita’s on the corner of Old Auburn and Auburn Ave in Citrus Heights. Wow, 20 to 30 years ago. Time flies, dang. We’re moving out of California soon. So, we’ve been there 5 times so far in a month, just can’t get tired of this place. We will miss his burgers and banana shakes, big time.

I genuinely enjoyed the food here. My family and I ordered a double cheeseburger, a triple cheese burger, and 2 BLTs with large fries, fried mushrooms, 1 large coke, 2 medium cokes, and 1 milk shake. The milk shake was delicious and went very well with the food. Not too thick. I loved the fried mushrooms, I’d never had any like that before. Very unique. The burgers were nice and the BLT was great! The pricing was kind of expensive but for the experience of trying a new place out and having everything taste amazing was worth it. I’d go again. I recommend trying this place out if you haven’t. ☺️
