10.31.25: We drove the hour to Spokane to run an errand. Afterwards, I wanted to find a pie bakery to try other than Birdie’s. I quickly did some research and found Rocket Bakery was just 5 mins away from where we were. We pulled into the tiny parking and luckily there was 1 spot left. When we walked in, it was more of a coffee shop than a bakery I had envisioned. However, they had a small area of baked goods and a glass window of cakes/pie and ready-made food. I didn’t recall being greeted either. Vibe was kinda off, not the cool vibing coffee shop feel.

After looking at everything, the only pie option they had was a Rhubarb Custard, which I went ahead and ordered a slice. I also got a slice of the Blueberry Cheesecake Tart, and a berry scone. My friend got a slice of the Lemon Tart and a chocolate chip cookie. The young employee helping us was really nice, but I think she felt overwhelmed by the line of people started to form. Towards the end of putting our order together, another employee came to help. I also felt we were kinda rushed out of there. So much so, that after we were handed our food, out the door, and almost to the car– an employee came running out with a box in her hand. She forgot to give us one of our slices.

The berry scone was pretty good. It was dense, moist, and cooked perfectly. I was excited to try the rhubarb custard pie, but unfortunately it fell short for me. The rhubarb wasn’t tart at all, giving it a real subtle taste. Possibly could have used too much sugar to cut the tartness. The custard and crust part wasn’t bad. I could taste the nutmeg and cinnamon and a hint of vanilla. The blueberry cheesecake tart had great flavor. It wasn’t too cheesy nor sugary. Preferably, I wished it had a bit more blueberry topping. The crust was interesting–it was good and I think it had nuts, oatmeal, and coconut mixed into it. My friend said his lemon tart was really good but that the winner was the chocolate chip cookie. He said it was on the softer side and filled with mini sweet chocolate chips that he really enjoyed. For now, I’ll continue my quest in search of yummy pies in CDA and Spokane.

Wonderful place to grab and go, but even better to order a delicious bakery item and coffee to share with a friend (or just some quiet time by yourself). Great, friendly service!

Had a lovely experience at Rocket Bakery! Wonderful bagel with pesto cream cheese and a specialty flavoured latte that was beautiful! Staff were kind and the atmosphere is super cute and cosy on a winters afternoon.

Great neighborhood spot to grab a table and treat yourself to some well brewed coffee. Addicted to their Caramel Pecan cinnamon roll. Easy back door entrance and parking.

Best coffee in Millwood, great service and sense of community, nice atmosphere to hang out in for a while. Also they have a drive-thru kiosk nearby. There’s really no reason to use the Starbucks drive-thru next to Safeway anymore.

This is a fantastic coffee shop with a a great bakery – or a fantastic bakery with a great coffee shop – either way, if you’re looking for a sure thing, stop here.

We stopped here on our way to Glacier National and it was such a great experience. The staff was so cheerful and competent and they made our morning. Great staff, fantastic food, amazing coffee, and a great indoor location = AMAZING. This formula is so hard to find these days.

Well done Rocket Bakery!!

There are so many bakeries and coffee shops out there—but this one is one in a million. From the second we walked in, the barista (Christine) greeted us with a big smile and was so friendly. It felt almost like meeting an old friend who was really excited to see you again. There are tons of fresh baked goods the owners make themselves (wow!) and the coffee is roasted by the owners too. There’s also tons of seating. We got bagels and Christine whipped them up quickly for us, while simultaneously taking care of other customers’ orders and greeting people in line and taking their orders. We were there for an hour and the place was hopping. She was so cheerful and caring towards each customer that came in—even the rude and demanding ones (which isn’t easy!). This is a great place with good coffee and plenty of delicious baked goods—but experiencing this outstanding customer service makes it shine above all the others. We’d love to stop by again next time we’re out here! Christine, you should win an award for most cheerful barista in Washington state!

I came into the Argonne location to get some baked goods for a client. I was happy to see no line as I was in a bit of a hurry. I stood in front of the pastry case, as I have dozens of times before. I stood there without being greeted for about 4-5 minutes (long enough for the gal to train the other gal in making two drinks.) I finally got so irritated I went to the cash register and politely let them know I was in a hurry and asked if I could get a few pastries. The barista (not the new one) was defensive and let me know I should have been standing in the “order here” sign closer to the cash register (one foot from where I was standing). There’s no way those two ladies did not see me standing there. I’m a big fan of a greeting, “hey there, we’ll be right with you…”
Not a great experience.

This place is super cozy! Calm lighting and music, carpeting, cozy accent chairs and side tables, ugh! A great place to read, study, or have soft conversation. The employees are really nice and everything is tasty. They serve Yerba mate, which is such a treat. Love this place.
