Texas BBQ doesn’t get better than this! WOW, my third time here (I come about once a year to Austin) and never miss Southside BBQ. I’ve had the Southside Combo Plate twice and absolutely loved it—best brisket anywhere—so I got adventurous and tried the Chopped Brisket Baked Potato (pictured). Double WOW. The brisket melted in my mouth. Highly recommended.
Now, don’t stop there because the peach cobbler is out of this world. Even better with a large scoop of vanilla ice cream. Your tummy will be so happy (and a bit stuffed)!

Super friendly staff, great food, and nice variety. Surprised to see lamb ribs and plenty of dessert options. Mac & cheese was a hit with the kiddos too. They were all delicious. Thank you.

Don’t get me wrong. The food is very good for Texas BBQ…that said most Central Texas BBQ is good.
The hang up for me is cost. Almost $18 for 1/4lb turkey and 1/4 brisket with NO sides and water. A 2 meat plate is $20+ which is technically a better value but still over $20 is a lot for lunch IMHO.

Best brisket/sausage combination sandwich I’ve had in a very long time. Even brought home a couple of packs of their meat market special, beef sausages, to enjoy later this weekend while watching college football games.

We walked in, the team was nice and very welcoming. They greeted us they took our order and not rushed us. The sausage and brisket was fresh and hot like always. Later we ate pie and ice cream delicious. Robert was in dining area making sure we had everything, I’ll be back soon.

First time checking them out, and wasn’t disappointed. Tried the dinosaur rib. It was GIGANTIC. Sides were tasty, sauces were great. There was an 85th birthday party going on which just added to the atmosphere. A wonderful employee (sadly did not catch their name) checked in on us and and was just a delight.

My wife and I come here pretty often and grab their jalapeño cheddar sausage and chopped brisket every time. The consistency in food quality is great and the workers are always very friendly which makes the overall experience that much better.
