The food was good, but unfortunately, the customer service fell short. The staff seemed preoccupied with her phone, prioritizing her phone over assisting walk-in customers. It was surprising to see the establishment’s well-maintained ambiance and quality food, yet lacking in customer support. The music and overall atmosphere were commendable. However, it would be beneficial for staff to brief first-time visitors about the kiosk and ensure prompt attention by taking orders or offering assistance, rather than appearing bothered.

For my last dinner in MGM, I went to Eugene’s, just a couple of blocks from my hotel. I ate my food at Common Bond Brewers, which brews excellent beer.

I got the three-piece tenders w/ Alabama White and Honey Mustard sauces. Delish. The tenders were plump, juicy, and covered in cayenne and other spices. (Mild heat for me.) The pickles were briney and crunchy. Since I needed something light and fresh, I also got the garden salad.

I 100% recommend this joint for tasty chicken and quick service.

Another chicken place? YES!!! Nice twist to what we have already! Flavored to your heat level . Comes out hot and juicy. Added a side of the “hot” seasoning cuz that’s what I do. Nice kick. MSc & cheese, CHEESY! Downfall is trying to find a parking spot. Walk is as always a good thing. If you like a spicy (you determine the level), you foot a try then out!

Eugene’s Hot Chicken is on a whole different level! From the first bite, the flavor was bold, crispy, and perfectly seasoned with that signature heat that keeps you coming back for more. The atmosphere was dope, the service was fast, and the overall experience was top tier. The main thing Kyndal truly stood out she was incredibly kind, helpful, and made sure everything was perfect from start to finish. If you’re looking for amazing hot chicken with even better service, this place is a must try. I’ll definitely be back!

Eugene’s has the best fried chicken tenders I’ve ever had. Sizable, crispy, juicy. Dave’s Hot Chicken people need to try asap. Fries are ok, bread is ok, soda was a bit watery. But the chicken alone is made with love. The atmosphere and service depends on how busy they are. This is Montgomerys premier chicken location and it’s not even close. I’ll be curious to see how Hattie B’s compares in Birmingham.

Went to this place with some military colleagues. We were excited to get a break from class. We entered and the atmosphere was amazing. The music was jumping so we were all in good spirits. The fried shrimp combo was advertised as a limited menu item so I ordered it. I also wanted cornbread. But after my placing my order, they said they didn’t have any cornbread. So I initially asked for my money back. They didn’t seem to be in a rush for that, so I tried to accommodate by asking for a cookie and was told they didn’t have cookies either. So at that point, I resorted to what do you have? And the lady at the register responded with pound cake. Her attitude was terrible. She seemed frustrated and bothered by us simply ordering food. She had no energy. Giving her the benefit of the doubt, maybe she wasn’t feeling well, but her attitude with multiple colleagues was less than ideal.

The chicken itself was super tender and flavorful, although it was more grease then I prefer. I got the chicken sandwich, and they didnt give me a breast, but instead three tenders kinda just piled on top of bread. The grease and wet rub kinda just soaked the bun instantly so i ate it without the bun. The chicken was really good and so was the pickled fried okra. I tried my friend’s french fries and thought they were undercooked, so idk about those. Our food took a bit long to come out, like just two simple orders took them about 25 minutes with only four other people in the restaurant. I observed at least three workers that just weren’t even in the kitchen and instead just sitting on their phone or chatting, with one guy in the back seeming also very unrushed. I get that a business is a business, but idk about charging 85 cents for an extra tiny container of sauce that I got (this includes ketchup too). Their soda fountain had no ice, and I overall dont think it’s worth what i paid for. It’s good food on a whim.
