While having dinner at the bar we witnessed the most unprofessional manager (Anita), subordinate (Staphanie) interaction in public for everybody to see.
A customer came to the bar to pick up an order she paid for. The bartender told the customer she needed to call her manager before giving here the order.
When the manager arrived the bartender showed her who the customer was and explained to her she was the customer who paid for the meal.
The manager began to tell the customer she needed to pay for her meal again because the bartender gave her initial order to someone else accidentally. The bartender asked the manager why did the customer have to pay again due to her mistake, the manger replied somebody had to pay for it.
While this was going on another employee from Resorts came to the bar to place an order and saw what was going on. He also tried explaining to the manager the she was wrong for trying to charge the customer twice but she could not understanding why. You can tell the other Resorts World employee was getting frustatrated with the situation and decided to pay for the customer meal, rather than forcing the customer to pay twice. The customer reluctantly took the food because she and the rest us knew the manager was wrong for what she was doimg. I’m not sure what was worst; the manager doing this in front of everybody or the her not understanding the customer should not be paying for the restaurant error.
Also, there chocolate fudge cake was probably the best I have ever had!
Although the below review still holds true, Resorts World Catskills’ Food and Beverage Manager, Theodore, did reach out to me. He apologized and made things right. Much thanks!
I visited this location as a treat to myself this evening, June 14, 2025. I was directed to place my to-go order at the bar. The location was busy, but the employee beind the bar asked a waitress to assist me. The waitress said, “We’ll be with you in a few minutes.” As few minutes passed, and I left the location. I re-entered about 10 minutes later to try again. I proceeded to the bar and was offered assistance. I asked to place a to-go order for chicken lo me in. The employee behind the bar asked a waitress to assist me, and I was told again it would be a few minutes. I decided to sit and wait at the bar. An employee took my order, and I paid for it using my credit card. The time on my receipt was 8:45pm. The cost of my lo mein was $20, and I was informed there was a $5 gratuity added on, for a total cost of $25. I sat and waited at the bar, but my food never arrived. Soon, I was the only customer left sitting at the bar. Someone asked where my lo mein order was, and the employee behind the bar said she had checked, and the kitchen had told her they didn’t get the order. When she checked again, I overheard the employees talking, and they said my order was then cancelled. Another employee went in the back to check on my order, and when she returned, she said it still was not ready. Over 30 minutes had passed. This was my first visit to this location, & as mentioned earlier, it was going to be a treat to myself, as it is not common for me to agree to pay $25 for just chicken lo mein (I was told no rice would come with it.) I was greatly frustrated & disappointed. My mother was waiting for me, & I told the employees I could not wait any longer. They apologized, saying they had, “A lot of VIP tables,” which I understand, but there is honestly no excuse for me to be left as the only customer at the bar, after a 30 minute wait, only to hear my order had been missed, then cancelled, then just completely ignored. I was provided with a receipt to show my order was refunded, but I cannot recommend this establishment to anyone, to be quite honest. I am one person, ordering one time to go, & I spent over 30 minutes of my evening waiting for food that never even arrived. I obviously will not be returning based on my disappointing experience tonight.
