This place is a hidden gem not only do they have great burgers at a good price they also have some of the best chicken in town The shrimp is to die for. And their customer service is exemplary. I stopped there once and since then I’m back at least two or three times a week. I live alone so stopping in there I can get a nice dinner or burger anything I want and get treated right and take it home with me. All around great place to eat however owns it should be proud of their staff.

I’ve been coming to Billy Boys to get ice cream since I was a kid and it’s still amazing! Prices are incredibly cheap. They’ve got a solid crew that works hard to make the food and keep the place clean. Efficient drive through and cool dining area. Definitely feels old school/vintage/Small business. Always makes me so happy to stop in and get some of their Cotton candy ice cream.

Definitely a greasy spoon, but not your mom and pop type of diner…. It’s more like if you can deep fat fry it, it’s probably available here, but ordering is counter style, like fast food. From the moment we stepped in, our eyes were burning from the grease cooking everything all day. Like a light fog or haze from a fire. Nothing they can do about that, aside from some possible ventilation, but it’s something we weren’t used to, and didn’t enjoy. Food was pretty good. We got pork tenderloins that had toppings we’ve never had. Usually they put Mayo elsewhere, but here was topped like a burger, ketchup, mustard, pickles etc. we weren’t sure about that, but it turned out to be a nice combination. Fries were hot and fresh, and tasted good as well. Service could improve. Had some younger people giving the impression they’d really rather be anywhere but at work. When asking for things, it appeared they were put out to have to get what you needed or ask about it. But, again, and this type of place, you’re probably thin pickens for who’s going to work there. The dining area had been fixed up since the last time I was there more than 10 years ago. Looks a lot more modern, but we all found the chairs very uncomfortable. If you used the drive thru, you’d likely avoid some of our dissatisfaction, as you weren’t be inundated with grease burning your eyes, and you’d likely deal with only one more experienced employee. It won’t be in our list to try again any time soon, but I wouldn’t rule it out, but, I’d likely try drive thru to see how all that would go.

The ideal budget-friendly quick-stop. We tried the loose meat sandwiches and onion chips. Food was really affordable and very flavourful. Would definitely return next time we drive through Sioux City.

Food was yummy! The servings were really small. But the quality was good! Yummy malt shakes. However the service was sucky. We went through the drive through and the woman taking orders was really rude. Her attitude was pushy and aggressive. Like she was annoyed. A very ugly attitude for such a cute place

I think the food was above 3 star but not quite 4. Fries and chili dogs were good. So between the quick service, the maintaining of low prices and a consistent, good taste, I can’t rate the whole experience 3 star, AVERAGE so I’ll go with 4, GOOD. Jeez, my review is 3 star, lol Who cares what I think?

Someone reported that the Onion Chips were overcooked and hard with no onion taste. So I skipped them and bought onion rings next door. Someone else reviewed that the “unclean ice machine” had visible mold on it, so I got a large Diet Coke next door, too. Note that I didn’t see these two dings, just read about them.

You know, most restaurants reply to reviews with give us a call or, I’ve even seen, this isn’t true! Instead, they should put, “We looked and didn’t see any mold. Just in case, however, the boss emptied the ice machine and steam cleaned the whole thing !”
Though I sometimes wonder if some criticisms come from competitors or a fired troublemaker. Someone who has reviewed only once makes me suspicious …

Billy Boys has a nostalgic, old-school vibe that some may appreciate, though it could benefit from a modern update. The menu feels like a homage to classic drive-in fare, but in comparison to similar spots like Tastee’s, certain items fall short—particularly the pizza burger. The portion of dip served with the onion chips is quite small. That said, my son prefers Billy Boys over Tastee’s, especially for the chili dogs, which are a standout for him. Overall, there’s charm in the retro feel, but both locations could use a refresh to meet today’s expectations.

We will return! Great comfort food! There is a dairy Queen right next door and I’m surprised that those people in the drive thru would prefer it over Billy boys.
