We started at the bar then moved to a high-top table across from the bar when the people we were waiting for arrived. Juan was our bartender AND server. We started with guacamole and the lime marinaded wings. Jalapeño margaritas La Diabla, Notch Beer on tap, pomegranate martini and leche! For entrees we ordered Achiote chicken fajitas, traditional empanadas and fish tacos. Excellent preparation and portions. Checkout Tequilas Mexican Cantina in Wakefield.

This has been my favorite Mexican restaurant for years. I tell everyone about it. We have always gotten take out because we had a baby but we actually ate inside today.
The food was absolutely phenomenal however, service not so much. Our server did not come over to check on us once nor ask for refills for our empty drinks. Not sure why, as I was a former server, if I only had one table I would have been so attentive. It took forever to even get a check, I had to take my 3 year old outside while my husband waited and paid. The server asked if my husband was paying cash or card and my husband said card and gave him the card. Fbe credit card receipt said $86 which made no sense but the server didn’t give an itemized bill until my husband said something was wrong and requested one. There was a salmon dish for $27 on our bill that we did not order. He removed it but also didn’t give a void/credit receipt then gave him a new receipt without the salmon dish. When he was walking over I saw him chewing so I’m not sure if he ordered the salmon and maybe accidentally originally put it on our bill but for only having 1 table I can’t see how a server could make that error.
Like I said food was incredible (food portions a little smaller but to be expected in this world). I would definitely double check your bills when you get them: probably be the last time eating in the restaurant.

I’ve been a loyal customer of this restaurant for quite some time and have always ordered the same meatball soup, which I absolutely loved. However, my recent experiences have been very disappointing.
Lately, the portion sizes have drastically decreased. I’ve attached a picture to show how the container is barely even half full now, and there’s only one small meatball with an abundance of vegetables. Before, it was consistently filled with at least 3 to 4 meatballs. The change in quality and quantity is quite noticeable and frankly, unacceptable.
Additionally, I’ve consistently asked for utensils when picking up my order, but recently, they’ve been forgotten or left out. It’s frustrating because I’ve always relied on getting everything I need when I order here.
I don’t know if there’s been a change in management or a shift in how things are being run, but these recent issues are disappointing and have made me reconsider ordering in the future. I really hope you’ll address these concerns, because it’s a shame to see such a great place lose its touch

We went there with a large group of women. We were seated promptly, after setting up a reservation.
We are ordered drinks, one app, and order main dishes as well. The food came really quickly. The drinks did too. We had everything from a glass of red wine to a frozen pomegranate margarita. All the drinks were great as well.
It was a busy Friday night, and we noticed just a tad of service lacking. Our waters weren’t refilled, nobody came to the table until almost the very end of the meal to ask if we needed anything else, but we did order some dessert as well.
The food was great. Amble portions, they didn’t skimp on the right stuff, and nothing taste processed.
I definitely will be back.
