Look you know I’m here with another honest food review. I don’t do average and if you don’t do average the Laughing Crab is the place for you. New owners Anthony and Blythe have come in and made this a hotspot. Not only is the ambiance amazing and cozy. The music that plays while you eat is great and of course the food is superb. The French onion is delectable, the flatbread is so tasty it’s addicting and if you haven’t had the angus tender steak with chimichurri you’re really not living life to the fullest. The salmon is yummy and my middle name is now parsnip and carrot puree. If you want garlic confit, get your butt over here. Opening with a bang, I can only imagine how good the menu will continue to get. You shook up my life and you shook up Bay Street. Downtown Florence needed this. Also great place to have a glass of wine, a cocktail, and live music.

An amazing wine bar with a good selection of local wines for a reasonable price. The small plates, and that’s what they have were excellent. A very good combination of fish or meat with salat and a special fresh taste. The ambiente is very modern and gives a great atmosphere.

Wow! We had a great experience, food, service, a bartender with sass and Dad jokes. We will be back. Kirstin, our server, made excellent drinks and great conversation. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a great atmosphere and something new in Old Town Florence.

We went Saturday for dinner and ended up dancing song after song. I had the steak & shrimp dinner. It was superb. The others had steak tacos and flatbread pizza. They were very happy. If I lived in Florence, this would be a regular Saturday night thing. The only suggestion I have would be the same as a Yelp review I read about the shrimp. It would be better if peeled BEFORE cooking m. The spices are yummy but didn’t really get through to the edible shrimp meat.

We visited here twice in the same week. Once to taste wine and chat with the owner and the second time was to listen to music and drink. What a great environment. Awesome selection of wine during our visits.

We ate here on 10/16/25. New owners had been in place for about 3 weeks, they were the chef and the front house leader. Service was friendly, prompt, polite, and better than would be expected for such a new operation. Our cocktails were excellent. The menu was a bit hard to figure out, but the server spent the time with us we needed to accomplish this. (The menu has a combination of smallish portion shared plates, mixed with some largeish stand alone items.) For starters, I had the french onion soup, and it was devine. Among the best I have ever had. My wife ordered a green salad, simple, with a house vinaigrette. The dressing was so good, my wife asked for an extra portion, although it was adequately dressed to start with. A great mix of greens, with arugula, frisse, and a bit of fennel. I moved on to a Tonno Crudo dish, which was perfectly sublime. Fish was delicately seared, and was presented with several side notes such as an olive tappenade. Very well conceived and executed. My wife had a flat bread “pizza” which was very thin and delicate, Margarita toppings. It came out with a unique set of scissors to divide it which we had never seen, but actually worked quite well. Crispy flat bread, delicious bright sauce, good mozzarella, and nice fresh basil. Excellent. My main course was the special, a meatloaf. It was well presented with whipped Parsnip and Carrot sides. No complaints about the meatloaf, although it seemed a bit ordinary after the preceding great food. Generous serving, I just finished the remainder in a sandwich today. The room is nice, it is comfortable, although they have a lot of high tops, we chose a standard table and chairs further back in the room. The check was reasonable, actually seemed great for all the fine food and drink we had. Certainly the best meal that Florence has to offer in my experience. Highly recommended, I am stingy with 5 star reviews, but they are working hard to have earned one.

Friendly service. Great local art with a wide price range available. The wine tasting was phenomenal. We did both the white and red and only tried 1 wine we didn’t care for. So. Good. We would return here again and again and again.

Fun evening after house hunting. Met Kim the owner and the Blaze the bartender was wonderful. Great vibe and friendly! We can’t wait to get to know more locals and find our go to places and settle in our forever home in Florence.

We commissioned a smaller version of a large metal laser sculpture of a whale fluke we had seen previously in the gallery. The result was incredible! I was concerned that reducing the size of the larger piece, would somehow affect the beauty of the smaller version. Nothing could have been further from the truth. The finished piece brought tears to my eyes, it was gorgeous! The movement of the piece is uncanny! At times it seems as though the water is really flowing from the fluke, and at others just sparkling from them. The other remarkable aspect of the piece are the colors. Depending upon the sun’s reflection, or not, the colors vary so amazingly that the fluke will be more blue, or even orange at any given time!
We will always be grateful to the artist, Gary T. Manos, for this lovely treasure, and to his wife Kim for facilitating this whole wonderful process!
