Took my wife and grandson here the other day for the first time. We arrived around 530 no wait for a table. Our waitress was very good
The menu has several good selections. We went for the fried platter for two. It was very good. Shrimp crab claws catfish and gator and came with 3 sides. My favorite side was the pepper jack grits. We will be going back.

Absolutely the best cajun/seafood you can get in Alabama without going to the Gulf. Starting with hush puppies that have a slightly sweet, unique flavor from the yellow corn inside. Blackened Shrimp & Smoked Ghouda grits is a a combination that can’t be explained without tasting. After the first bite, everyone said the same thing,”WOW!” Lastly, and most important to anyone who loves oysters, is their Jacked Up Oysters. Char-grilled, covered with pepper jack cheese, smoky bacon and pickled jalapeños. Well worth the drive and will be dining out here whenever we’re wanting seafood.

We ate here around 4:00 pm on a Thursday so it was not crowded at all. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. The food was great!
The fried shrimp was the best I have had without driving to the coast. Lightly battered and seasoned just right. The onion rings were light and crispy. We also had grits with smoked Gouda that was very tasty. We will definitely go back and take friends!
The waitress told us they have live music too. I wish I had taken pictures because the atmosphere is nice. The room we were in has a two story ceiling with distressed brick walls.

This was our first visit to Swamp Tails and we will visit there again! Nice atmosphere and very clean. The inside dining area is roomy with the main floor and an upstairs balcony area.There were six of us in our group and although we arrived at 5 p.m. on Friday, we would not have been seated without a reservation. Strongly recommend reservations on the weekends. We had variety of food including a steak, shrimp and grits, coconut shrimp, and a seafood platter for two with a side of onion rings which were excellent. Their selection of draft craft beer was limited but they did have a couple of good beers on tap along with the usual draft beers. The margaritas were reportedly very good too. All six in our party enjoyed our food and drinks. Swamp Tails food and service is excellent and definitely worth the trip!

The food was decent. Kind of pricey for a lunch menu, and slow service. It took the server almost 10 minutes after we were seated to get our drink order. Then after bringing our drinks she asked if we were ready to order, but she didn’t have her tablet to take our order. So we had to wait for her to go get that. After we ordered, the salads came out quick, the food didn’t take too long either. But one of our group and I myself ask for extra sauce and it took quite a while to get it back. Now I will give them credit that it did look like there was only 2 servers for the lunch time. That’s why I have them 3 stars.

I enjoy myself every time I go here. The atmosphere is fun and the service is friendly. I mostly come to see the bands play after the restaurant portion is closed, but the food is good as well. I would have rated this restaurant/bar 5 stars except that the pricing on the food is high for what is served. And the times I have eaten there the wait was about 45 minutes after ordering during times they were not busy. Overall, I like this place and would recommend trying it.
