The fish is definitely first rate, but the portions on the oversized plastic bowls are meager. Hard to see what it was inside it, since the lids were all foggy. When asked the person behind the display, his guess was as good as mine.
For $30.00 I got about 8 miniature pieces of chopped salmon, a sprinkling of meager seaweed, some fish roe and maybe 5 soybeans, served over way too much, ill cooked rice.
The sushi is individually wrapped which is a good concept so you can choose amongst 4 different types of fishes. Got 4 total for $20, bringing my grand total to a whooping $50.
You self pay, and the shopping bag they provide one with is poorly designed: Like a half moon, with one single edge at the bottom so it never sits properly on a flat surface. And with the size of the plastic bowl the bag ended up looking like another carry on bag. Forget about bringing it on the plane.
And good luck finding a table big enough to unwrap your sushi, one by one, use the wasabi, pour the soy sauce…by the end there were too many wrappers and too much trash to dispose of.
I would recommend this place to open a food counter thus showing eco consciousness and reducing plastic waste.

Was terrible, likely due to poor temperature control. Would have just been bad, if not for the price being expensive as well. Would avoid.

Rice was hard, texture was bad. Taste was ok at best, hard to tell given the temp.

Better than some reviews said it was. I definitely preferred the salmon and tuna nigiri and the salmon bowl over the tuna roll mainly because it tasted fresher. The one thing about the nigiri I found annoying was that each piece was individually wrapped in plastic. Also, the avocado on the tuna roll was a bit brown. Keep in mind these are not made to order, you pick from the prepackaged items so you are limited to the selection without being able to make any modifications. It’s a bit expensive but it’s sushi at an airport so it’s to be expected. The tuna roll and nigiri plate was $24.99 and the salmon bowl I believe was $18 (the bowl came with pieces of salmon, seaweed salad, edamame, white rice and tobiko.) I personally don’t like tobiko and luckily I was able to find one that didn’t have any but I wouldn’t count on it if I returned. This is definitely a grab and go station and you pay at the self check out so if you’re in a hurry it’s still a god choice. I do hope that in the future they allow customers to order what they want vs having to choose from the items they have in the display.

Sushi – great. I was a little weirded out by the individually wrapped pieces. As of writing this review, I have not experienced any stomach problems.

Service- ok. I got chased by the man behind the counter for not going to the right self check out counter.

All in all. Good place to grab and go. Just make sure you check out at the “right” counter or you get the wrath of the sushi guy.

2024 update:
I guess I showed up a little too early. No sushi early in the morning. See photo

I got the prepackaged tuna-only sushi box and it was pretty good. Would recommend for a grab-and-go snack. Prices are a bit crazy but that’s EWR for you.

Yes, gentleman who helped was rude and rushing us at checkout. I should’ve cancelled at that point. The rice was hard, no flavor and the shrimp in the California roll smelled bad. Gross! Waste of money. Never again!!!

Ordering process is very confusing and the owner or chef is irate when you ask questions. Each pack of sushi counts as 1pc. Super confusing and not very helpful when you just point to things and expect people to get it. rolls were 1/10 rice is mashed together and no flavor. Doubt anything is imported from the Tsukiji Market as claimed.

Self-serve style counter. The sushi portions are very small, but the bowls are pretty plentiful. I got the tuna bowl and found it to be quite tasty. The price wasn’t terribly bad, either.

Tiny portions for ridiculous prices! And the rice is terrible, I have had microwave rice much better than this! Hopefully you read this before you get suckered like we did!

Just.. no.
Hard rice. Fish doesn’t look or taste fresh. And they don’t have ginger.
