Fantastic experience at Nam, found on the Fork app and secured a small discount.
Fried spring rolls were possibly the best I’ve ever eaten, fish cake was also tasty and large enough to share.
The main portion of beef noodles was amazing and can’t wait to try it again.
My wife also tried the Lychee cocktail and said it was one of the best ever, and she’s had more than a few cocktails in her time.
Service was faultless and friendly from the minute we arrived.

We regularly travel from Glasgow to this place, eat dinner, and get the train back home to Glasgow. That’s how much we love it.

The food is outstanding. My wife is Vietnamese and I lived there for years. This is the best Vietnamese food we’ve found in Scotland.

The staff are lovely too and always make us feel so welcome. Thank you 🙂

Our last night in Edinburgh ended on a high note, thanks to the scrumptious dinner we had at Nam, a small Vietnamese restaurant about a 20-minute walk from the University. Nam boasts an aesthetic ambience that’s perfect for dating—that’s the first impression I had and shared with my wife and daughter-in-law (pity that our son couldn’t join us because of work). As we are quite familiar with Asian cuisines, Vietnamese and Japanese, in particular, we were then not looking for exotic flavours. The dishes we were served—tofu pho, chicken pho and aromatic beef stew (with rice), however, simply exceeded our expectations and compared favourably to the meals we had had in some well-known restaurants so far on this trip, such as First Coast, The Ship and The Palmerston. The beef stew in particular is worth special mention. Apart from the generous portion of tender and tasty meat, the aromatic sauce represents a perfect blend of flavours, making it one of the best stews we have ever tried. The two bowls of pho were served in different soup. The tofu one was in a delightful tomato-flavoured soup and the chicken one was in a light beef broth whose flavour was enhanced with the various herbs added. A refined dining experience is not just about food. That the chef came out to serve our food dish by dish and asked about how we found the food itself was an important complement, not to mention the nice ambience mentioned. Last but not least it was exceptionally good value for money as it just cost us slightly over £60 for a meal comprised of three main courses, a big pot of green tea and an iced coffee. Definitely we will be back the next time we come visit Edinburgh. Thanks, Nam.

Great food, awesome service and really lovely little place. The phozilla is amazing and the fresh spring rolls were some of the best we’ve had outside Asia!

We visited this Vietnamese restaurant for lunch, and the staff was very welcoming.

We tried the Pho and warm rice noodles, which was a hearty meal. The food was authentically Asian and reasonably priced.

This was a super tasty treat on a cold evening for my child and I. I had made a mistake with the reservation but they were so incredibly accommodating.
The food was amazing as was the dessert.
We had the phozilla (or something cute like that) and the fried ice cream and had every drop.
It was wonderful and hope to go back again.

Lovely atmosphere and super friendly staff, with heartwarming dishes. The dipping sauces were excellent, and the slow braised pork belly in caramelised sauce melts in your mouth. The fried spring rolls are crunchy and very flavoursome. We’ll definitely be back for more!
