Dropped into Oxtail Pho and Banh Mi around 4 AM and was genuinely impressed – this spot is a late-night gem.
I ordered the oxtail pho, and it hit all the right notes. The broth was rich and savoury, the portion was generous, and the chunks of oxtail were meaty, tender, and fall-off-the-bone – exactly what you want in a dish like this. Deep flavour, solid portion, and clearly made with care.
My friend got the Spring Roll & Charbroiled Pork Vermicelli (V3) – a bowl of vermicelli noodles with herbs, lettuce, pickled veggies, and a spring roll, served with fish sauce. She was stoked on the flavour, saying it was the closest thing she’d found to a dish she loved years ago. It had the perfect balance of freshness, crunch, and savoury punch.
The staff were amazing – the woman at the counter was warm and welcoming, and the chef actually came out to personally thank us for stopping in. That kind of hospitality, especially at 4 AM, is rare and appreciated.
Only drawback: the QR code menu on the table is a bit hard to navigate – especially if you’re unfamiliar with the dish names. Pro tip: go to their website and look for the photo menu instead – it makes ordering way easier.
All in all, this place delivers on flavour, value, and late-night convenience. I’ll definitely be returning – and telling friends to check it out when they’re craving something real after hours.

An after concert treasure! We went for some late night pho after midnight and it was the perfect warm and delicious meal we needed to relax. The owner was very kind and welcoming!

There’s so much to unpack. But I had issues with the menu, food and the final bill.
Menu: There’s a QR code which you have to scan, but I don’t mind it too much. The issue was the layout of the menu, it seemed like the whole thing was typed out in HTML and made it hard to read and understand. There were also no photos and the customization was very confusing to follow so we didn’t really know what we ordered but just ordered what we deemed normal pho with all the typical ingredients and meat types.
Food: When the food came out, it was accompanied by sides in a cupcake liner. They had a lot of trust in that paper liner to hold those wet ingredient. Side note, most other pho places will put bean sprouts and other greens on the side instead of inside the pho but this place didn’t, so if you have the soup cilantro gene you should speak up and ask for it to be removed. Getting into the actual food, it was stomach-able but those prices don’t reflect the quality and you can find better pho for cheaper within a 10-20 minute walking distance. Also, I don’t know why but there was chicken in our pho, I’ve never seen this anywhere else and it was a very unwelcome discovery.
Billing: When we were first ordering, we only ordered one portion to share and they were keen enough to catch onto that and gave us bowls. Fantastic food and brought me to a familiar place in my heart. Not a lot of places bring a home cooked meal and invoke this feeling. Oxtail Pho is keen on quality and service! It was a pleasure to eat here and I recommend getting a Viet coffee on the way out ❤️

This pho place prides themselves for using no MSG in their soup broth. They also simmer their beef broth for over 24 hours. I had the pleasure of having the all you can eat pho hot pot here. It was a different experience than what I’m used to when it comes to hot pot. The price for AYCE is also very reasonable too. The meats were fresh and the broths tasted good. I would order the beef broth and spicy tom yum soup broth. The bbq duck is also delicious. My favourite is the beef short ribs, marinated just right with the balance of sweet and salty. I def also recommend trying what they’re known for, the oxtail. They’re open late to 4 am everyday!! It’s nice to know where to go for my late night pho cravings!!

This is a small family-owned outfit on Dundas west of Bathurst. However the pho quality is anything but superb. I had the house combo to go with its house made broth, the Loved You Pho. To be honest the $28 pricing was higher than I expected. I was even more surprised by the huge quantity of meat in my pho bowl. There were beef flank, ribeye beef slices, beef tripe, beef balls and chicken breast slices. The pho was also served very hot, the authentic way to allow the rare beef and accompaniment like bean sprouts and Thai basil to be ‘cooked’ just right. Though I didn’t sense any remnants of msg, I think the broth was a tab too salty IMHO. I was however impressed by the rice noodles which didn’t become starchy and lose its firmness as I slowly worked through the dish. Nonetheless this pho bowl had properly fulfilled my craving

I really do feel bad for giving this place a 2 stars (the staff were very nice and the playlist was banging) but the pricing was pretty absurd. We payed 70$ (including tip) for 2 regular bowls of pho and 2 ice iced coffees. This translates to a 25$ bowl of pho, and a 10$ iced coffee per person. Comparatively, you can get the same order at Pho Tien Tan, the reference for pho in Toronto, for about 55$ (~20% difference). I understand the cost of ingredients is high these days, but its hard to justify such a steep cost as a customer.
From a personal perspective, I wasn’t a fan of the broth; the daikon rendered it a bit too sweet and it overall lacked flavor. The beans sprouts and the Thai basil also came as part of the pho as opposed to separately, which was unusual. The menu was also extremely confusing to navigate. It was a kind of DIY, choose your protein and garnishes menu, where the separation between one item and the next was hard to tell. Oh, and the Vietnamese coffee tasted a bit weird.
Unfortunately, I don’t think I would visit again.

Recently I tried duck blood. So why not ox tail when my friends suggested it. This vietnamese pho restaurant is vibrant and cheerful. They do take out orders beside in house restaurant service. So they are bustling with the hustling lol.
Although the dishes were all good, my favourites were:
1. Chicken red curry with rice. It was tasty and mild. There were plenty of chicken slices to share with my friends.
2. Basa fish fillet. Loved this. The batter was not oily nor heavy, making the fish easy to eat.
3. Crispy spring roll. The spring rolls are big and definitely crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. Super delicious!
4. Ox tail pho. Nice flavorful soup. The ox tail was meaty. And lots of beef balls. I liked that because many pho places put like 2 or 3 beef balls and that’s it.
5. Vietnamese iced coffee. Not a coffee drinker but I loved this one. Wish it was refillable lol.
The service was good. They were quick to bring us the dishes and anything else we wanted. Even after we finished our meal, they didn’t push for us to leave immediately and offered us more water. That was really nice of them and made me a happy tipper haha.
