Reviews
1. The place is super well maintained, it’s spacious it’s clean ,it’s cozy and the warm sunlight seeping in makes it look really nice.
2. The food was served on buffet and didn’t have a crazy lavish menu, just decent enough to satisfy your appetite, but don’t fooled at that. There is a pretty good spread, there are a good number of flavoured chutneys(pestos) that go well with the simple salad starter options.
3. They have decent appetisers for today they had potato fritters and Grilled vegetables(Tandori vegetables). Which was super nice and absolutely non-spicy.
4. The main course is pretty decent , it was 2 vegetarian curries ( for the day it was cauliflower and potatoes mashed and another paneer + vegetables curry) very subtly flavoured and pretty decent enough and non spicy.
5. As for the meat based main course they have lamb and chicken( I didn’t try so don’t no comments on that ).
6. The rice was very simple saffron flavoured rice and a mixed lentil curry. ( I WANT TO HIGHLIGHT SOMETHING ABOUT THE RICE AND THAT IS, THE RICE HAD ABSOLUTELY NO SODIUM BICARBONATE) which was huge huge blessing unlike most other places that add insane amounts of baking soda in food.
7. The dessert was a simple mango panna kota which was nice.
8. The breads were served on the table freshly made which was really cool.
9. The buffet also comes a complimentary drink which ranged both alcohol and nonalcoholic.
10. The service isn’t great they barely check on you, if you need anything at all.
11. It’s definitely on higher price side than usually places but I guess that’s how it is.
12. Over all the food is pretty decent and has no sodium bicarbonate( baking soda) which is good cause else it would leave you bloated for hours.
13. The only drawback I found was even though it was a bit late, they didn’t choose to refill the buffet, which is okay but I think for the price we paid I would expect fresh refills.
14. They have a huge banner of Gayatri Mantra (a religion Hindu holy phrase) right above the service place. Which is very thoughtful. Like taking pride in one’s religion and culture.( We really liked it)
If we are ever in the area I’d love to go back there again.
Was in the area and decided to try this particular location; the food and service were just as good as the Aptos location. A little birdie also told me there will be one coming to Los Gatos as well, so I’m super excited about that.
Not much to say other than this place is SOOOO good, but I’m not shocked. If you don’t like Indian food, this place will make you change your mind. Anything and everything is good!
No hard liquor but they do offer wine and beer.
Parking is easy; they have their own stand-alone lot.
Some of the dishes you must try are: Chicken Tikka Masala, Butter Chicken, Tandoori Mixed Grill, Chana Masala and Raita (yogurt sauce). Of course, the usual naan and saffron rice to use as a vehicle….
We ordered all this for two and had plenty for dinner the next night. This place is definitely better for a larger party (family style) but can always take leftovers to go like we did.
Didn’t get our server’s name but he was very friendly and attentive.
They literally do not turn on the heat. I asked both times and was told the first time it wasn’t working and the second time that it was on. The thermostat said 63 degrees. To pay $20 for lunch to sit and be cold is just unacceptable.
The samosa avocado Chaat was like a deconstructed samosa with lots of fresh avocado and a yogurt sauce. Tasty.
Service, wise kind of disappointing for such an expensive place. They didn’t offer anything special for a birthday dinner and unfortunately we had a misunderstanding with our order.
My husband hates cilantro and we asked for cilantro on the side (also said he was allergic). But every item of our food came covered or included with cilantro, even after we tried another 2 times to clarify after our starter arrived sprinkler with it.
So a tip if you have food restrictions to be super clear , maybe try “no whatever at all ” or I’d recommend to ask to maybe speak to a manager when you’re ordering?
