We went there for our first time to celebrate our anniversary. We were treated very differently from those who were dressed in their Sunday best. We were seated and the waitress was short with us when taking our order. I ordered the salmon, which was cooked 50% of the way done, the rest was very undercooked at which I couldn’t eat because I am pregnant and can’t eat under cooked fish. We watched as our waitress tended to another couple who was dressed nicer with a professional attitude, was very fast with taking their order and getting it out to them. We also watched our waitress ignore a group of 6 sitting next to us as they were not dressed up either. They got their appetizer 45 minutes after ordering, and the waitress didn’t take their order for their dinner until at least an hour and a half of them being there (we were there the same time the group of 6 were). They told the waitress they had to leave because they were never tended to and it was too late to order at that point and they were going elsewhere. The slice of cake we got for dessert is not worth $13. But we absolutely loved the lights on the windows and the toned down lights inside the restaurant.
To make things short and sweet:
IF YOU WANT GREAT SERVICE, DRESS LIKE YOU HAVE $$$, AND EXPECT SUBPAR FOOD.

This is my second time eating here. I first came during Summer of ‘25 and enjoyed it so I decided to bring family and friends to come back again while visiting Denver. The food was just as good as the first time. We especially enjoyed our server Kiersten who was amazing. The next time we’re in the area we’ll be back.

We had my parents 50th wedding anniversary party here and it was so amazing! We rented a private room and Jacquee was so great to work with. She met with us multiple times to work out the details. She was amazing! The room was perfect, food was great and the service was top notch. We had a group of 20 and everyone raved about how great of a time they had!
Will definitely use them for any other parties!

8/23 Four for dinner. We did not have reservations. Hostess checked with management about seating us. We were seated. Water came immediately. Ordered drinks, margarita, Manhattan, and a beer. Food: 2 soups, 1 spicy Italian sausage and 1 tomato bisque. 2 Caesar salads. Server brought 3 salads and 1 soup. Asked for tomato bisque, but server brought spicy Italian, which is fine. Soup was hot and delicious. Caesar dressing is some of the best I’ve had in quite some time. Entrée: Steak and shrimp rigatoni, filet asked for well done, met burger for well done, and ribeye medium. Filet was medium, ribeye was well done, all sides were served cool. Ribeye returned to kitchen and another served. 2nd ribeye served was hot and cooked properly. Sides still not hot. Server did remove ribeye from our bill without us asking. Dishes weren’t cleared after salads and water glasses weren’t refilled unless we asked. We don’t know if establishment is short staffed, but this is the last time we’ll visit The Metropolitan.

Went for happy hour. Limited menu offerings but still good. The martini was good, the tacos were tasty. But bought a Manhattan as well as better than a martini. Service was excellent, would definitely be back.

Cool spot! Great food options! Kinda fancy! I should have worn a button up shirt !
I got the angus beef hamburger, added avocado, bacon and satiated onions. Super yummy and delicious! Big hamburger! Cooked perfectly! Good choice of buns they use! I also got the pokie appetizer, which was really good, but super small for the price! The ahi was sliced very thin. It would be better if they were thicker slices! But at any rate super good!! I also substituted my french fries, for truffle fries! Which were very good to you! I would definitely be back in order the same thing! Service was very nice and prompt! You can tell the restaurant is very well ran! Good size bar! Plenty of drink options! Happy hour too!

This place was awesome!! Our server (Heaven, I think) was great, the ambiance is fantastic, and the food was delicious. We came for happy hour and would highly recommend! Small plates (appetizers) are half-price! Enjoyed everything we had, but the shishito peppers were particularly tasty. In fact, they were so good we ordered a second round of them. Yum!

We are locals and we go here periodically. It used to be quite good and the atmosphere is beautiful. However, there’s been a change and the food and service have really gone downhill. A few examples: things come cold. The grilled cheese which used to be amazing comes with American slices and hardly any of that. The wedge is a Mediterranean wedge…more of a Caeser than a wedge. The steak Frits come with brown gravy now and the fries are the battered sort. It has lost that elevated feeling of really good, well-prepared, thoughtful food. No garnishes. The chili was good but came with nothing—no cheese, crackers, sour cream or even green onions. For the price I think they can make it nice, serve it hot and garnish it. And the service…this time they “lost” our order—we had to go to the counter to get drinks which were never ordered, and other people came in, sat down and were served before we ever saw our (cold) food. The wait staff looked at his watch twice while we were ordering as if we were late and suggested they were out of everything as it had been busy—this was 1.5 hours before closing. The time before there was mistakes in everything. We won’t be going back for awhile, and as small business owners downtown, won’t be recommending it either. The only plus was that they took care of our bill when we explained our experience to the manager. This would be one of the nicest places in town if they could get the service and food to the level it used to be even a few months ago.

This place was amazing. The food was top notch, so full of flavor, it made my taste buds dance. Wonderful atmosphere. I got to watch as food was being prepared and seeing the way everyone in the kitchen moved, and flowed together was like watching a puzzle put itself together. All in all a Truly magical experience start to finish. And if you get the chance try one of their desserts.
