BIENVENUE . . .
. . . and welcome to fresh, authentic French cooking from Brittany, right here on the banks of the Thames
Our ‘galettes’ or buckwheat pancakes are a speciality. Cooked to order on a flat griddle, they are made from wonderful, nutty-tasting, organic buckwheat – gluten-free and packed with vitamins and minerals.
Galettes come with just about every savoury filling you can think of – perfect as a starter or main course.
As an independent restaurant, open all day, every day, we would love to see you any time – for Sunday lunch, business brunch, film or theatre supper or a relaxed three-course dinner.
If you need to cater for a group, we have a lovely, first floor, private dining room.
Rustic waterside restaurant serving galettes, crepes, seafood from Brittany and Breton ciders.

We had the most enjoyable experience a week ago. Everything tasted delicious. Staff were welcoming and friendly and premises clean.
Thank you for this lovely experience. Highly recommend and will gladly return when visiting the area in the future.

Simply the best French cuisine in West London!
I took my son for a special dinner out and we were blown away by the quality and taste of the food.
It’s a lovely intimate restaurant with a lovely atmosphere and the menu was classic old school French with a great wine list too.
We went for oysters, baked Camembert and snails (we were hungry!) to start. Everything was fresh and delicious. The warm baguette and butter was also sublime.
My son had the steak and I had the duck and we ordered some extra potato dauphinoise on the side. Our plates were cleared!
We then forced ourselves to try the desserts – crème brûlée for my son and a total classic – Crepes Suzette for me and yes, they did set them alight.
It was an unexpected treat to find such a high quality French restaurant in Richmond and we will definitely return.

This is not just a meal—it’s a true celebration of French cuisine. A must-visit for anyone who appreciates great food, thoughtful service, and timeless culinary artistry. Easily one of the best French restaurant you can find in Richmond. This restaurant is everything a great French kitchen should be—refined, soulful, and unforgettable. The flavours are deep, balanced, and beautifully layered clearly made with exceptional ingredients and real passion. From the first bite to the last, every plate feels intentional and memorable!!

Not recommended. The waiters were rude. The salads were horrible. I would expect something much better for this price. Much of my lettuce was brown/rotten. The goat cheese salad looks like few leaves taken out of a bag and two pieces of cheese (honestly, anyone would make it better at home). The chips that come with the meat are the frozen type. The waiter didn’t collect our plates properly, she spilt sauce all over the table, and our cutlery was dirty (did it come out of the dish-washer like that or did the waitress leave stains there with the sauce she spilt from holding on to my dirty fork earlier… ? Who knows). I say this as someone who works in hospitality. I’m sorry but this is not the way to serve customers.

A lovely weekend meal that just kept getting better.
We had the set lunch with the duck terrine, mixed seafood platter for starter both of which were very well made and perfectly portioned.
For the mains we had the chicken and salmon. The chicken was sublime, while the cook on the salmon was perfect we did feel that the lentils overpowered the meal and bent it more towards African/Indian flavours. Still delicious but perhaps not suitable for the delicate salmon.
For dessert we shared the chocolate tart that my partner declared was the best she’d ever eaten. Perfect finisher to a stunning meal.

Arrived at open time at noon on sunday, not busy until past 1230. Unique interior of lots of natural light. Lunch menu include option of two or three course menu or crepes. We opt for the crepes for a lighter lunch. Nice experience.

We went there on a weekday afternoon. Only two tables were occupied, including ours. The interior is nice, but the tables were sticky, which was unpleasant. The food is tasty and reasonably priced. The service was good. Overall, we liked it.

It’s been many years since I last visited Chez Lindsay. Before I retired in 2011 it was a favourite for informal business lunch and meeting friends after work for supper. Since those days it’s changed hands and seems to have survived the transition. The Gallette chez Lindsay was as tasty as ever and my friend said her calves liver was sublime. No Isles Flottantes which was a disappointment but not really a surprise. Good value and the service was attentive. I’m planning a second visit soon.

My boyfriend took me to Chez Lindsey and I loved it. The food was great, the vibe was easy and welcoming, and it felt like a proper little gem. Ideal for a relaxed date in Richmond with good wine and good company. Would definitely recommend. And thank you to Aditya and Max
