I have not been to Louisiana Lagniappe in probably 20 years. The only one I have been to was the one that was briefly in Zachary/Baker LA area which I literally was never impressed with at all. Therefore I had not had a desire to try the Baton Rouge location. Wow! I have so been missing out! My husband and I eat out regularly and a friend of his was bragging about the Perkins location so we decided to give it a try this Valentine’s Day. What an excellent choice! I cannot even say enough to compliment this restaurant to the level it deserves. Every single thing was excellent! The wait staff…the food and the drinks were truly top notch. I cannot wait to go again!

This is the first time we visited this town, I looked up an upscale place to eat with my family, this place showed up. The prices were very high, we figured it must be really good and a safe choice. Wrong!!. Every dish was either bland or spicy hot, no flavor. From the steak, to the shrimp, and the oysters, the chicken, the potatoes, and the soup. My kids chicken tenders had to be replaced, they were not seasoned for a child to eat (the replacement was good). We didn’t enjoy the meal.

We have traveled all through South Louisiana, and this is the best restaurant we’ve eaten yet. Everything came out perfectly. The service was excellent and the black drum with softshell Croft crawfish fried with a cream sauce and lump crab meat was just unbelievable. I must stop every time. I’m in Baton Rouge.

If you’re looking for a guaranteed fantastic meal, this is the place. It doesn’t matter what I order off the menu (or from their excellent specials), the food is always delicious. Beyond the incredible cuisine, the service is top-notch; the staff are welcoming, helpful, and genuinely friendly. A staple for great dining.

I’ve heard many great things about this place so my husband and I were excited to try it. I was underwhelmed. It is very loud and didn’t feel very intimate despite the cozy decor. Our server was nice but didn’t check on us as often as I’d liked. Our food was good but not great considering the price we paid for it. I got the tournedos and my steak and shrimp were overcooked. My husband got the fresh fish in papillote which is their signature dish and he wasn’t impressed. You couldn’t even taste the fish because it was topped with so much stuff. I feel like they missed the point of even serving the fish. Overall, not a horrible experience but definitely not worth the price we paid. We’ve had much better food for way less money. I don’t think we’ll be returning.

My fiance and I made a same day reservation on a Friday. This was the best dinner I have ever eaten. It was my first time there after receiving a gift card from Southeast Insulations (Thanks Blair). The service was phenomenal! The food was even more phenomenal! Can’t wait to eat here again! Thanks again for a wonderful time.

Underwhelmed… first word that comes to mind. First experience (couple years ago) was good. Tonight was lackluster and so so.
I went early and dined in the bar area. The service was not great, they were brining in furniture rearranging chairs and the bartender was in the back a lot.
My Sensation salad, included with the meal, was lack luster… fresh, but one cherry tomato, one olive, one peperoncino
I ordered the “Louisianne”- Black Drum fish / lump crab sautéed in lemon butter. The fish itself, a little crispy was good, but the crab was shredded and DRY. I asked for extra lemon butter and was told that it was real butter on the crab. I understand what lemon butter is, but the dish needed more…
It definitely needed something.
“Long run for a short slide!” … especially for the price.
