Lieu’s Asian Bistro is a creation from David and Peter Lieu along side David McCraw to bring a taste of Asia to Greenville. David and Peter Lieu are the namesakes of the restaurant concept and was the owner and operator of Lieu’s Chinese Bistro until they sold the concept in 2014. The Lieu’s Family has been in the restaurant business their whole life and been operating in Greenville since 2005. If you are looking for the original chef and original recipes, you must come to the Pelham road location.

I coordinated the catering of a team lunch at my place of work for 47 hungry shop guys this week and Lieu’s hit a home run! From my first interactions with Katy and Peter, to food delivery by David, I was highly impressed. The quantities were perfect — very generous — and EVERYTHING was included, from serving utensils and ice, right down to plates, flatware, and lemons for the complimentary sweet tea. The flavors of every dish were outstanding, and the food was fresh and hot upon delivery. We got spring rolls, three kinds of rice, Lieu’s Spicy Chicken, Beef with Broccoli, Sesame Chicken, and Chicken Lo Mein. I was no less impressed with the catering service than I have been when I’ve eaten in person at the restaurant. I will 100% be ordering from Lieu’s on Pelham again!!

I really enjoy going to this restaurant because I love Asian food. It’s a cozy, simple, yet charming place. The service is very good, but what I like the most is obviously the food. The portions are generous and the prices are fair. Sometimes I go with my husband, and other times I like to come with my group of friends. They always treat us excellently, and we have a great time.

Fantastic dining experience! Every menu item we had was fantastic and service was amazing. Crab wontons were so tasty and I absolutely loved spicy basil beef dish. Every staff that walked by our table checked on us, cleared plates, refilled drinks. Great teamwork! Bartender suggested a fantastic plum pomegranate martini!

This was actually our second choice for a going away lunch for one of our favorite coworkers. The service was excellent, seated quickly, orders taken promptly, waiter was very attentive and good spirited, our orders arrived fast with no problems. Several of us got the Lieu’s spicy chicken which was very Thai inspired, just enough spice to get your attention without causing any discomfort. Thoroughly enjoyed and will return. The owner or manager came out to check after the meal if we were happy and was authentic. I think our early timing played a great part in our visit as well though. A++

From greeting to departure, a very uninspiring experience. While I realize we were dining at noon on a Monday, there is no excuse to be greeted with an inarticulate mumble. Our servers attitude was also short and abrupt. When the food arrived at the table with 2 food runners for 2 entries, they didn’t know who had ordered which meal. I directed the first meal to my wife and was then asked who got the second meal. There were only 2 of us. Our server came by to check that our food came out ok. We didn’t see him again until we were finished eating. The atmosphere was above average, and the food was wonderful, which is the only reason I didn’t give a 1 star.

First time in, very, very noisy. We waited a long, long time after being seated for our waiter to acknowledge us and take a drink order, by then we had our whole order ready. It’s not horrible, not great, but most likely won’t return. Very similar to hibachi Japanese places, where 75% of plate is piled up with bland rice. The beef with scallops was sickening sweet and scallops were very fishy tasting. You definitely need the white rice to get thru this. Very few veggies, no water chestnuts. The lo main was okay, only a couple pieces of meat, pretty blah, and again it’s mostly rice on the plate. It’s a popular place, hence the intense amount of noise. Our server was slow and our iced tea was bitter. Thought it would be much better after reading reviews. It’s a meet up place to have drinks mainly and some food. Value for price mediocre at best. Meats were cooked well and rice too, flavors need adjusting and more than a couple pieces of chicken should be in the noodles.

I’ve eaten here for 25 years. The food is simply the same as it’s always been. It’s excellent, every time. The service has stumbled a little, but this is because we raised a generation of “everybody gets a trophy”. In spite of these setbacks, Peter Lieu continues to provide the best Chinese in town. You’re cheating yourself if you don’t go try the sesame chicken and salmon firecracker rolls. I hope I get to eat here for another 25 years!!

My wife and I have been wanting to come here for a long time and we finally came for the first time tonight and had the privilege of meeting Lieu! Turns out this is the OG Lieu’s! Every single person and bit of food we had was fantastic! Neb was our server and has been with Lieu for like 15 years! Hard to find good Chinese food, and this is our new go to place for Chinese! Highly recommend!!!

Lieu’s Asian Bistro is a superb place to eat a variety of different foods. The restaurant has a delightful atmosphere and Mr. Lieu is very friendly and greets his guests. I ordered the “Thai Spicy Shrimp” w/ brown rice. Shrimp was cooked perfectly and the flavor was amazing. Definitely a place to eat if you enjoy sitting & enjoying your food. They have fresh hot mustard for your soup & the crispy noodles w/ duck sauce are a tasty treat to snack on. Service was good. Menu has a good variety..See you soon:)
