I’ve been to Mama Mia about seven times now, and the food has been consistently delicious every single visit. The pizza is great, the desserts—especially the cheesecake—are amazing, and the overall quality of the dishes has always been reliable.
The restaurant itself is also one of the most thoughtfully designed spaces on the island. Every inch of the decor feels intentional, artistic, and transporting—you really do feel like you’ve stepped into a different world.
That said, the service has been lackluster at times, and occasionally even poor. It’s definitely something worth noting, especially because everything else about the restaurant is so strong. With more consistent service, this place would easily be a top-tier dining experience.
Overall, I still recommend Mama Mia for the food, the ambiance, and the desserts. Just be prepared that the service can be hit or miss.

It’s a very laid back spot! We loved the thin and crispy pizza crust.
Jacqueline made our experience lovely and made her taste the home made lemonade.
About payments: they accept 2 cards only
And they close at 9pm

Great local place. Cheesy bread to start was quite good. Ceasars salad was excellent. But…oh… the pesto pizza was absolutely delicious. Crisp crust. We ordered a rose and it came in an ice bucket. Nice touch.

The fact it was the only restaurant on Barbados that we wanted to visit twice sums it up. In our 7 night stay from the UK we thoroughly enjoyed our meals there. All we’re freshly cooked, excellent prompt service and always the Bajan smile and politeness (not to mention the humour ). Go there is you can and you won’t be disappointed.

Unfortunately we had been going to this place for years. We went for a meal this evening and it was awful and inedible completely disappointed, the only thing that was edible was the starter of bruschetta. Spoke to them and let them know discounted 3 meals but charged full price for everything and service charge! Don’t waste your time going just awful! Pictures show meals finished hardly touched it was that bad! Garlic bread was a small loaf with hardly any garlic

The pizzas we ordered were delivered in a reasonable time and were both delicious. Crispy thin crust and tasty toppings. They were out of their famous coconut cheesecake so we ordered the Oreo cheesecake which two of our party enjoyed. We recommend Mama Mia’s.

Eleven years ago, Mama Mia Italian Deli & Pizzeria left a lasting impression, and returning to Barbados, it was a must-visit! I’m thrilled to say the pizza is just as fantastic as I remembered. The Sweet & Sour pizza was a particular highlight – cooked to perfection with a delightful balance of flavors. The thin crust was exactly how we love it: perfectly crisp, not burned, and utterly delicious.

Adding to the experience, the Banks beer was the coldest we found on the island, a truly refreshing treat! Both our lunch visits this trip were met with prompt and friendly service, making the overall experience even better.

Mama Mia has certainly maintained its high standards. It’s a testament to their consistency and quality. We’ll absolutely be returning on our next trip to Barbados!

Having grown up in Chicago, a definite pizza town, I am VERY picky about pizza. I also love finding new pizza places to experience. Mama Mia is fantastic. If you like a nice thin crust and a slightly tangy sauce, you’ll love this place. It’s the best pizza I have had in Barbados by far and I’ve eaten at quite a few. It’s also every bit as good as pizza i’ve had in Italy. Highly recommend.

Full disclosure: I’ve been here about 5 times in the past month and planned to order pasta at some point, but I love the pizza here so much I haven’t done that yet.

The gluten free Seafood Pizza was good… a little crisp like biscuit, but tasted good. The usual stoic Bajan hospital greets you but it eventually got warmer after she mixed up the order and had to do a makeup. But I was ok…
