I wasn’t planning on leaving a review, but after reading some of these, I feel like someone needs to say something.
Carlos Sotelo, for someone with 244 reviews, you would think you would understand that ice cream melts, especially at a brand new restaurant that is clearly busy. Writing off an entire menu because your sundae was not frozen solid during opening week feels a little extreme.
Jose Jose and Marlin Wilson, calling food “burnt,” “hot doo doo,” and acting like this city cannot handle another burger spot is just unnecessary. If you are tired of “copycat cheeseburgers,” then do not go to burger places. Problem solved.
Josie Sanchez at least gave a fair, honest review and acknowledged they just opened. That is how feedback is supposed to work.
Charisma Telles, you even said customer service was good, which matters a lot when a place is new and working out the kinks.
And Devan, if you would rather go next door to Carl’s Jr. or McDonald’s, I am sure Carl’s Jr. would absolutely love your business. No one is stopping you.
Now, here is my actual experience. I paid $10 and got an abnormally large burger, fresh hot fries, and an amazing lemonade. Everything was hot, flavorful, and clearly made to order. The staff was busy but polite and doing their best, which is more than I can say for some of the attitudes in these reviews.
And since ice cream seems to be such a big issue for some people, I did get the banana split. It was excellent. The ice cream was really good, the bananas were fresh, and it was put together exactly how it should be. I will be posting pictures.
Constructive criticism is fine. Attacking a small local business during its first week open is not. Some of these reviews say more about the reviewers than the restaurant. I will be back, and I hope this place sticks around.

Burgers were very tasty, fries crispy and ice cream perfect! The mushroom burger tasted so good. I’m a big mushroom fan and the taste of the sauté mushrooms was super savory. The ice cream cup for the price makes total sense. It’s a bigger cup than you think. The worker at the window had amazing customer service. I did not have any issues. I will be back! * remember they are still in soft opening*

Found a new favorite spot on the drive home! Stopped in for a bacon burger and jalapeño poppers, and everything was delicious. The real MVP was the homemade ranch—it was so good I could put it on everything. Do yourself a favor and check this place out!

My husband and I ordered a lettuce wrapped western burger and it was DELICIOUS! (Lettuce wrap was a PLUS) The fries and jalapeño poppers were also sooooo good. They also have the best ranch great customer service and we will definitely be coming back !

First visit last night, did drive through. Long line, but moved reasonably well. I had the fancy burger combo which was a good sized cheeseburger, crinkle cut fries, and a medium soft drink, and a dipped cone. Burger was big, a little burnt bun so I kept tasting that, otherwise good. Fries were brown, not crispy, and just warm. Dr pepper was perfect. Dipped cone was fine, no chocolate soft serve just vanilla. Shakes are 6.99, so didn’t try lol. Husband had Western burger combo and also ordered the fried mushrooms. Burger good size, but bun and meat really burnt, he only ate half. Fries were same as mine, diet Pepsi good. Got home, no fried mushrooms. They were $5.49, so he drove back. They weren’t very good, dark brown…dirty oil or overcooked idk. Did give him a free ranch… normally .75 for ranch. We gave it a try, but for $36 plus gas having to go twice, I know we won’t be back. I understand others have had good experiences, in this economy I’m sticking with tried and true like H&W. Just my opinion. Took pic of western burger parts before giving to our doggie.

Super friendly staff, affordable prices, food is made to order and is always hot and delicious! Corn Dogs are my absolute favorite! Their burgers are big, especially once you add bacon! The best thing for me was their vanilla soft serve. Creamy and leaves you wanting more! I cannot recommend this place enough! The diner is now open. Trust me, it will instantly become your new favorite diner-style restaurant in Merced! <3

I bought lunch for my family today. Great food and customer service. Their burgers and fries hit the spot, including grilled onions. Strawberry & pineapple shakes excellent! Made w/real ice cream. Their burrito was deep fried and delicious. The staff is very polite and they appreciated my business. I will be back!

Tried Fancy Burger in Merced and was pretty disappointed. Our food came out cold, and for $60 (3 burger meals, 2 small shakes, and 3 chicken strips), it just didn’t feel worth the price. Taste-wise, my family and I would give it a 3/10. I really wanted to enjoy it, but this was just our experience. Since they just opened, I’m hoping things get better with time and practice.

My son loved the spicy chicken sandwich, I got the burgers 2 for 7.99 I believe. The burgers tasted great and with plenty of sauce, the onion rings with crinkled fries were a good combo with the burger. I’ll definitely be coming back to try more food, not only was it good but the hospitality at the window was great. I’ll return just for the hospitality alone, the good food was a plus.
