Overall experience:

Food: 4/5
The food is quite fresh and delicious, but definitely not the most memorable for such a competitive area. The gnocchi were soft as pillows and delectable, definitely not something you can easily buy at stores, 8/10 dish, albeit, could have more flavor. My family members rated their meals, 8/10, 8.5/10 and 5.3/10. Some dishes were a bit too saucy, others didn’t pack much of a flavor profile, but both were delicious. Over half a plate was left over for two family members and no left overs were taken home.

Service: 3/5
Cape cod is a seasonal environment, with peak seasons being about 4 months long. It’s understandable that staff may be sick, short or new to the field, but the service was lacking. Our family had to hunt down our waiter for refills, the check and to pay. The initial greeting didn’t provide any mention of the special, alcohol or other seasonal items. When the waiter was grabbed for our items, they were kind and quick to address our needs.

Accessibility: 3/5
The establishment is on a hill and requires anyone in a wheelchair to have strong muscles or the assistance of another. Once up the hill, there is a step to access the building, and the tables vary from tall / normal height.

Visited this restaurant recently and had a fairly average experience. The food quality was okay—Nothing particularly bad, but nothing that stood out either.
The interior and ambiance were pretty basic, not much effort put into creating a unique or cozy atmosphere. For the overall experience, I felt the pricing was on the higher side compared to what was offered. Not a place I’d go out of my way for, but decent enough for a casual visit.

Had a wonderful first dining experience at Montano’s last night. My friend and I live in Provincetown and pass it all the time. The staff was absolutely lovely, and the environment is simple but welcoming. The bread, oil, and cheese situation was delicious and a lovely touch. The martinis were well made, but I wish they would get bigger glasses rather than serve the top off pour as every time I topped it off, it spilled a bit from the container. The Caesar salad was actually quite good, but I would skip on the fried mozarella (the sauce tasted of tinned tomatoes). I had the short rib ragu with parpardelle, which was very good, and my friend has the chicken Saltimboca. The dish was good but not traditional Saltimboca as it had olives and mushrooms…prefer the traditional. We left stuffed, and I would definitely recommend and go back.

A truly charming Italian restaurant. The atmosphere is beautiful and very family-friendly, perfect for enjoying a relaxed meal with loved ones. The food was excellent, full of authentic flavors and clearly made with care—everything we tried was delicious. The service was warm and attentive, which made the experience even better.

As a special and memorable touch, I even got to see Santa Claus during our visit! ✨ It added a magical feeling to an already wonderful evening
Merry Christmas

While our whole day was booked at Truro vineyard we decided to have dinner at Montano’s. I have given rating 3 for the staff & team who served us. Otherwise we didn’t find this place more welcoming. They have limited options on the menu also the food was not upto the mark. We were hungry so just felt like eat & get out. The most upsetting part was they served small orders which included kids order at the end. Kids and our teens kept waiting while we finished appetizers & entrees.

One of the best Italian restaurants I have ever been to, and it was such a pleasure finding this gem while on vacation. Ms Sherri was a fantastic waitress and we were able to get her both times we went. Staff is friendly and the food is superb! Best deal is the early bird special you get a salad and bread with your meal. All in all a fantastic experience!

This is the best Italian food on the Cape, friendly fast service. The bolognese is my favorite but the New Haven style pizza is also great. My favorite choices for appetizers are the house salad along with the fried mozzarella. You really can’t go wrong with anything here. I look forward to this meal all year long.

Nice place and pretty good food. Went there with a large group and they were able to accommodate us no problem. I had a special, steak tips and it was very tasty.

Food was great service was great
The only things I would change to make it better is to have Italian music playing or some light dinner music not classic rock tunes. Sorry not what I want to hear when eating.
And have the fire going and visible to make it a warm experience. (Table blocks view of fire place) pretty sure it’s gas log
We will return hope to give it 5 stars

Maybe on a different night this would’ve been great… we were seated in an area where we were told there would be live entertainment. That’s fine, right? NO. There was hardly anybody there. It’s 7pm, and we wait for probably 15 minutes for anyone to even come get us water. We order, and the live entertainment was OPEN MIC STAND UP COMEDY. It was horrible… the first guy/host made many very explicit sexual jokes while everyone was trying to eat their dinner, including jokes about pedophilia and incest. When nobody laughed at these, he started making sexist jokes about women and then admonished an older woman for not laughing at these jokes, telling her “welcome to comedy” and seemed increasingly agitated when his jokes didn’t land. It was generally just super uncomfortable and I don’t think anybody laughed for his entire set… I’m not saying restaurants can’t have events like this, but I was there with my family and the whole atmosphere was just uncomfortable and offensive. The restaurant seemed cozy otherwise?? The pasta was great but the sauce was a little watery.. I’ll probably come back for trivia but my main point is that if you’re going to have a “comedian” make incredibly offensive and uncomfortable jokes, at least warn people that that will be the soundtrack of their evening. It seemed more fit for a dive bar at 11pm than a nice restaurant at dinner time. The second comedian was actually funny but our night was already ruined by that point. Have him host next time!
