Pig out in heaven! For 35 years, former owner Nancy Lee served the Upper East Side with pig-centric Chinese food. The Chinese restaurant design offers comfort by combining the standard neighborhood upscale vibe with lovable pig-centric tabletop decoration. The high standard of hospitality made Pig Heaven a celebrity magnet and a viewing glass into Chinese culture for Upper East Side residents.
Taiwanese-style cooking with a pig-centric menu, plus kitschy pink decor to match the theme.

Haven’t come here in a while. I ordered fried meat dumplings and soup dumplings to start my dinner. The dried dumplings came suspiciously fast, and I was right. They were precooked and kept heated. The dumpling itself was nice. The flavor was nice. It was the texture that was a bit off. The bottom was burnt but not crispy enough. A few of them were broken and the filling was visible.
The soup dumplings were okay. It was steaming hot. The wrapping was nicely done, but just a bit too thick to my liking. The flavors inside were a little bland. I didn’t like it with soy sauce, so I asked for vinegar, and it immediately made it better.
For main course, I got an orange beef. It was cooked very nicely. The beef was cut into bite size, and fried until they were golden and crispy. However, a few pieces were quite tough and hard to chew. The steamed broccoli was cooked perfectly! It was green and crunchy. It paired well with the dish. The rice was okay.
Overall, it was a nice meal. A little more expensive than I remembered, and the food quality was a little not as good as I remembered.

My second time dining here after visiting the MET. Completely satisfied with the food and service both times.
First time I ordered Cantonese duck, which was cooked to perfection. This time I ordered crispy pork, which was a perfection ! Right amount of spices, crispy, generous portion. It marked with one pepper on the menu, but really not that hot, hits all the right spots.
The service is quick and friendly.
Highly recommend this place for a family dinner or evening with the friends.

We were in the neighborhood for an appointment and decided to stop for lunch.
BBQ Ribs are delicious, most Chinese restaurant makes them but are usually tough but these were tender and so flavorful. I wish they were near home hehehe.
Peking Duck, while it was super crispy outside and tender inside it was not seasoned. Without the hoisin sauce it would have been a waste of money…
Bok Choy with Garlic is delicious, I wish I could make it this good hehehe.
If we are ever in the area we would definitely go back.
Lots of pig related decorations, cute! Hehehe

With a name like Pig Heaven, I would not expect, as a vegetarian, to give this restaurant a good review. However, they have delicious vegetarian options. The waiter made a record of vegetables with pancakes. It was excellent.
The background music was funny. Piano versions of Christmas carols – in August – without words.
I would go back. It was a great experience

First time coming here from Houston, yes I understand we are in New York but my server was extremely rude, interrupted me every time I tried to order. Plus nobody was here so I don’t know why she was rushing me . I didn’t like my plate but switched plates with my friend which was great but horrible service. Also Didn’t check on us once, had other servers to do stuff for her and completely avoided us. Not sure if it was racism or what. Completely unacceptable . The other servers that helped us were amazing though, kept out water filled the whole time!

I have to say I really enjoyed the food, atmosphere and very attentive service. From making sure my glass was always filled with water, to making crispy duck sandwiches for us right at the table. We ordered a whole duck along with Lo mein and fried rice and everything was delicious and authentic including the Japanese fried chicken appetizer. Its been a long time since I’ve had fried rice with egg cooked in it. Our server spoke highly of their spare ribs, so we’ll definitely be back to try those. About the atmosphere, the restaurant is very nice, spacious, and has a classy, yet relaxed vibe. Bottom line, the food was beyond delicious, the service was the best and the atmosphere was warm and friendly. We will be back for sure

We got the ribs, pork soup dumplings, and pork chow fun. The dumplings were AMAZING, ribs were great too. Chow fun was good, though nothing particularly spectacular. Place was clean and staff was friendly. Great chinese restaurant!

Quick service. Friendly staff. Clean. Good quality dim sum. We had popcorn shrimp which was tasty. Spring rolls were hot and crispy. The soup dumplings were some of the best I have ever had. Sesame chicken was great. Lots of sauces and condiments for everything. Limited beer selection. Many cocktails Defaulted to forks but we requested chopsticks and they were immediately provided. No complaints very solid.
