Not many people in the place at lunch.
They deserve more customers! Excellent experience!
After receiving the reaponse from owner….REALLY??? I’m so sorry I didn’t run to the health department to report you. The inspection report literally said they would score you lower if they could and the previous scores show your pattern of inconsistencies. It also shows you do this all the time. Little too late… As a responsible business owner, it should have never gotten that bad. You literally take people’s lives in your hands because you cannot operate a business correctly. Some people like myself have a chronic illness, and have to watch what they eat, so even playing it safe at your location with white rice and a filet, I was sick. Better off going to Waffle House!!!
Ate there for the 1st time last week.. was sick for 2 days and then this comes out a week later!!! Bye! Never coming back and will inform others!!!
OKINAWA STEAK AND SUSHI (Riverstone Pkwy — Canton)
Inspection Date: 03/04/26
Inspection Type: Routine
Score: 51
Violations:
Person in charge did not demonstrate proper food safety oversight — several critical violations were observed during the inspection indicating food safety procedures were not being properly monitored. (4 points)
Improper handwashing and glove use — an employee handled dirty dishes and then put away clean dishes without changing gloves or washing hands between tasks. (9 points)
Employee drink stored in prep area — a personal drink was observed on the prep counter next to a prep unit. Employee drinks must be stored in designated areas away from food preparation. (4 points, repeat)
Improper food storage order — raw beef and raw eggs were stored above ready-to-eat sauce in a cooler. Raw meats must always be stored below ready-to-eat foods to prevent cross-contamination. (9 points)
Improper cold holding — yum yum sauce stored in an ice bath was holding above 41°F. (9 points)
Improper cold holding — several time/temperature control foods were held above 41°F in a reach-in cooler with an ambient temperature of 49°F. Some items were discarded and others moved to different coolers. (9 points, repeat)
Improper cold holding — a large container of yum yum sauce in the walk-in cooler was measured at 48°F and discarded. (9 points)
Improper hot holding — chicken soup on the stovetop was holding below 135°F and was discarded. (9 points)
Improper date marking and disposition — ranch dressing and cooked shrimp prepared on 2/25 were still stored past the 7-day limit and were discarded. (4 points, repeat)
Improper date marking — several prepared foods were not date marked until the inspection began. Foods held more than 24 hours must be date marked when prepared. (4 points)
Food contamination risk during storage — bowls containing garnishes were stacked directly on top of each other causing the bottom of bowls to touch the food below. (3 points)
Cross-contamination risk during food preparation — a knife used to cut raw meat was rinsed in the vegetable prep sink and food debris was observed in prep sinks. (3 points)
Food stored on the floor — marinated ginger butter was stored directly on the floor instead of at least 6 inches off the ground. (3 points)
Sanitizer concentration too low — sanitizer bucket in the bar area tested at 10 ppm chlorine and must be between 50–100 ppm. Bleach was added during the inspection. (3 points)
Utensils not properly air-dried — several cups were stacked while still wet and must be allowed to fully air dry before stacking. (1 point)
Inspection scores may not equal the total point deductions listed because multiple violations within the same category may only be deducted once, and repeat violations may carry additional weight.
All scores are reported directly from the Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH).
