Went tonight and It was such a pleasant surprise in every way.
Highly recommend!

First course teapot mushroom soup, warm sake, lobster rangoon. Too good, forgot to take pictures.

Then Hibachi box (a box of all kinds of neat things!) and tuna steak.

The tuna steak was amazing and tasted like a normal steak but better.
My husband said he hasn’t had one so good since he was in a nice restaurant in Japan.

Dessert was tempera ice cream.

Our server Dylan was so nice and good, I hope we have him when we go again.

We have sushi for our anniversary every year and have been looking for an alternative to Akai Hana since their sushi prices continue to climb. And Tora was great! Sushi rice was nice and firm, sashimi all tasted great, and the tempura was all well done. The basic rolls we ordered had 6 pieces not 8 like you often see while the special rolls were 8 pieces. I often judge nice sushi places by their amaebi, uni, and hotate and Tora definitely passes. They all had a good ocean flavor, not too watery or soft either. Would definitely go again. Went on a Sunday at 5:30 and it wasn’t too busy. (Also another benefit to Akai Hana where a reservation is almost required). Is it as good as Akai Hana? Honestly no, but my sashimi plate was $32 not $47 and none of their special rolls are over $20 while most of Akai Hanas are, and Akai Hana isn’t 50% better. So Tora was really good and I would go again.

This is one of my favorite sushi restaurants. It has the look and feel of a high end steakhouse, but without high end prices. The Sushi is always flavorful and fresh. They also have a pretty big Sushi menu, tons of selections. My wife and I plan on coming back soon!

it was my first time there for lunchwiyh a friendz The food was good and met the expectation with price. The restaurant’s setup is kind of a mix of fine dining. You couldn’t really tell that it’s a Japanese restaurant if you don’t see the sushi bar. We were there quite a while talking and they just made us feel comfortable. I’d love to go back sometimes. Oh and I love their spicy fried chicken. So delicious.

I’m from out of town and some co-workers and I visited for supper. It was absolutely fantastic, a wide variety of foods that pleased everyone (including those who didn’t like sushi in general). I can’t wait to go back to Columbus and visit again! Delicious and service was impeccable!!!

I tried an Uni shot, and while I didn’t like it (personal taste), it was well made and fresh, and I appreciated the opportunity to try Uni! The sushi was fantastic and mouth watering!

The atmosphere and the service was much better than the food! Unfortunately, my role was not good at all and they made it special because I’m gluten-free. They said I couldn’t have the Wassabi and I’ve had wasabi everywhere I’ve eaten before and the tuna on my sashimi platter wasn’t fresh. For the first time ever eating sushi we left food on the table when we were done.

Hidden gem of a spot in a strip mall on Morse & Hamilton. I ordered the lunch special which gives you a choice of multiple items for a very lovely, reasonable lunch. I had the salad, beef kolbi, and a spicy tuna roll for 12.99! Everything was delicious! My daughter went a few days later for dinner and had a great experience as well. Try it, you will not be sorry!

The food quality doesn’t match the service and atmosphere here. Service is really good, but the food is really bad. Tora signature roll is very disappointing me because the shrimp tempura inside is NOT crispy and crunchy at all❌ The rest sushi is just ok and normal. The blue fine tuna sushi is not really fresh, the tuna is too soft. Same for sea urchin. I searched “top rated restaurant” and come here but it’s really disappointing, not recommend to everyone.

Food was great!

My husband took me to try a new Japanese restaurant and it was great! The restaurant was beautiful and fancy too! We order so many things, I couldn’t remember the name of the food I ordered, tried to check the menu on the website but it didn’t load. Anyway, the salad was #1 our favorite… Hamashi the fish was #1 too, 😀 sooooooo goooooooood, so fresh and not fishy at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think this could be my best upscale sushi restaurant so far!
