My friend and I enjoy trying restaurants that are new to us. We both were excited to try Casa del Tequila. That being said, we will never return. I ordered a chicken burrito. It had the largest glop of sour cream I have ever seen in my life. Don’t get me wrong, but seriously. The ingredients within the burrito were basically dry chicken and cooked tomatos.
There wasn’t any seasoning or flavor to it. A little into eating I bit down on something hard that wasn’t in any way chewable or digestible. I politely, pulled a 1 and 1/2 inch, what appeared to be a stem out of my mouth. I was very suprised due to the fact the burrito was very bland!! I pushed the plate aside, placing my fork on it. The waiter eventually appeared and asked if there was a problem with my food. We both pointed to the stem. He left with the plate and soon someone in charge?? appeared and informed us it was seasoning. REALLY!! I ate less than a quarter of the meal, they did offer me some fajitas, why?? I’m seriously not sure?? I declined.
All I can say, it was the most bland burrito, stem (seasoning??) I’ve ever not eaten and had to pay for.

Tucked into the south corner of the London South Shopping Strip sits a restaurant many consider the best Mexican spot in the area. It proudly claims to offer “fine eatery.” The question is: are we finally about to taste fine-eatery Mexican food? I genuinely hoped so.
The façade certainly suggested promise. I walked in feeling optimistic—the décor was beautiful, the layout intentional, and the modern lighting made the entire place feel warm and inviting. Even the bar looked lively… too bad I was still on the clock. Maybe this weekend.
Once I reached my table, I noticed something common in certain Mexican restaurants: an all-male waitstaff. There’s nothing inherently wrong with that, but it does create an odd imbalance. It’s not that the job belongs to one gender or another—it’s that some restaurants benefit from the balance of personalities and styles of service that a mixed staff naturally provides. A touch of warmth or attentiveness felt missing, and it showed.
We were handed menus along with chips and salsa, and we kept our drink order simple—just water. For once, after visiting countless Mexican restaurants over the past two months, I finally saw a menu that was clear and concise—not a 360-page novel disguised as a menu.
Because I was in a meeting, I couldn’t fully observe the broader atmosphere or how the staff interacted with everyone else. From the little I did notice, including our own waiter, something just felt… flat. A spark was missing. I hope that makes sense.
For my meal, I ordered chilaquiles. I figured: if they can pull off this simple, humble dish—one that is incredibly easy yet surprisingly easy to ruin—then the rest of the menu would likely follow suit. While waiting, I went to the restroom, and credit where due: it was clean, well-designed, and properly maintained.
But when the food arrived, disappointment set in immediately. I should have kept my expectations low, because what I got was… fine. If you had told me this was carne asada with rice and beans, I wouldn’t have criticized it at all, because that’s exactly what it resembled. But chilaquiles? Not even close. Even if the intention was to present an elevated version of the dish, the execution was still poor.
Let me be clear: the food itself is good—very good, even. But it is not “fine eatery,” as the restaurant boldly advertises. And that is exactly why my expectations were high. The name promised an elevated dining experience, and what I received was standard, everyday fare. There’s nothing wrong with regular food—but don’t label it something it’s not.
I was genuinely disappointed with the lackluster execution of the chilaquiles. How can such a simple, iconic Mexican dish be done this poorly? I might understand if the cooks weren’t familiar with it, but this was clearly not a matter of interpretation—it was simply off.
I may return one day to try other dishes, but next time I’ll walk in knowing better than to expect “Fine Eatery.”

We got seated immediately. Love the inside look, tile floors, some comfortable booth seating if you request, and great waiter.
Food wasn’t anything spectacular, good Mexican food, BUT the amount you get for the price?! Wow. I chose the veg fajitas and added a side of steak which was only $3. If you have hungry kids, this is the place to go! And great for a casual date too.
Oh and my hubby got a HUGE beer for the cost as well.
Will definitely go again.

The chips were extremely overcooked. The salsa was good, but not the best I’ve had. The tacos were very plain with meat that doesn’t seem like hamburger. Disappointing to say the least!

Love this place! Had the best server in the place, his name is Angel (ask for him, you’ll get pampered), I like that they have live music on Fridays, their margaritas are awesome and never watered down, their menu is extensive and really good in terms of quality, quantity, flavor and prices. They serve you chips with 3 different sauces to choose from. Their queso and guacamole are divine. Have been visiting a couple of times, and I can now say I’m a returning customer. Highly recommended!

I’ve lived in quite a few states, and this is the best Mexican restaurant I’ve been to thus far. Taking into account the cost as well as the quality of the food…this place is absolutely worth it. Best margaritas I’ve ever had, I come back just to have one of them. The food itself? Also incredible. So reasonably priced. Genuinely? I come here just for the margaritas but I never leave disappointed. Staff is super friendly and attentive. Worth the stop, worth your money.
Edit: Stopped back in (again) and our server Maya took great care of us and everything was great as per usual.

Went here with some friends. Was seated in the new room behind the bar. Service was lacking in this area but the place was full in the bar and main area.
Drinks were really good and would have had more but again, it was our service.
Food was great for everyone at the table but mine. The carne asada was way over cooked and was more like jerky. I would get something other than this dish personality. Their chips were okay and the salsa was good but you will not fill out on the chips before your food comes out.
I would go back here again and get another dish and wait for a table in the main area.

Great food,the atmosphere was pleasant, not sure why the workers whistle with celebration singing, the servers forgot my shells. The quality of food and service after that was outstanding.
