Starting off this place is beautiful. Plenty of seating the food and service was great. 1st I had the Cajun Duck Patties 10/10. Very delicious it was cooked perfectly. My favorite appetizer this year. 2nd I had the Catfish Poboy 8/10. The bread was nice and soft. The catfish was ok could of been a more crispy. The Aioli was bland but paired with Pico it amazing. Last but not least the Gumbo 9/10. Need a little more rice. The rue was spectacular it needs to just a little bit more loose but darn near perfect. The shrimp and sausage was cooked to well, seasoned to perfection.
Shout out to the cooks/Chefs in the kitchen. Shout out to the Manager Twaina and the waitresses. Only negative was the place is to nice and the food is too good to be served in baskets. Food Game 9/10. Price Game 8.5/10. Portion Game 9/10. Presentation Game 6/10. Overall Kouzens 9/10. I will come back again and again. Top 3 restaurants so far.

I went there just to taste. The fries were very flavorable! But the chicken didnt taste fresh. For a 8 piece drummets and fry was 19.34 ish. The wait wasn’t more that 15 min. Very nice atmosphere! Great customer service!

Great food and service! We tried the blackened catfish, shrimp and grits, and southern fried frog legs for an appetizer. Everything was perfectly seasoned and prepared. Our server told us they do live music on the first and third Friday of every month and we’d love to come back again for that.

I went on a random Wednesday evening at 5pm. The wait staff was super helpful and knowledgeable about the menu. I had the blackened grouper and jambalaya. Tons of shrimp included which was awesome! I really enjoyed the meal.

Kouzen food was delicious. We had the chicken po boy the grits flight with shrimp lamb chop and catfish and then tried the duck patties. The food speaks for itself. Hands down the best lamb chop ive ever had. The only down fall was it took over and hour for our food and it wasn’t busy and our waitress changed 3 times. Also the food wasn’t piping hot from the stove which was strange since it took a long time. It was more room temperature but it still tasted very good. I think they just have some operational errors to work out and once that gets going they should be fine. I will try again after a while.

We went for lunch on a weekday and “Cousins” was fantastic. Friendly waitress and great food. We had crawfish Étouffée and the blackened fish (sorry, forgot what kind of fish).

Great restaurant in the heart of Peoria. I’ve been here 5 times and it never disappoints. Pictured is the oyster po-boy-perfectly fried oysters on fluffy hoagie-type rolls with slaw and all the fixin’s.

We came in for lunch at opening and were greeted by an amazing and knowledgeable hostess, she struck up a conversation and made some great recommendations as well, she checked in often throughout our meal, we order the duck patties for an appetizer and they were amazing and the sauce was a powerhouse of flavor, I ordered the lamb chops with garlic mash and they were cooked to perfection melt in your mouth amazing, my friend ordered the Grouper Orleans with dirty rice. It had huge chunks of lobster in the bernaise sauce, the rice was flavorful and moist, overall a beautiful experience in one of Peoria’s newest restaurants. They do live bands on the 1st and 3rd Friday of each month as well. I’m definitely coming back again when I make it to Peoria again.

The food was fantastic the the place was pretty nice inside even the waitresses were friendly. (especially Tricia, she really put in a lot of effort to make our experience better) We did however have to wait over a hour to get our food. That being said there was a influencer who recently went and reviewed there food and I was informed by staff they were not prepared for it to blow up like that and had to call in staff that was not scheduled.
