Interesting toilet cubicles! Great place for a drink. Cool atmosphere. Great selection of drinks and they are really well made. The barman was thoughtful and even included touches like leaving the top of the straw in the drink with paper over it as to not touch it with his fingers. Great experience here. Would recommend.

I’m 56 years old and it was late at night. So I dozed off for a few seconds and the waitress was quite unpleasant about it.Saying she was gonna throw me out even though I was clearly not drunk.I said I’m not drunk.I’m just old but she was had such an attitude. But I understand it’s new york and the comedians were very funny so overall a good experience.

Chill place with a super nice staff. Saw the 10pm comedy show with a small crowd. Really nice atmosphere overall.
They have a two drink minimum per person.

This is a great bar, they don’t have a food menu but they allow you to eat take outs here. The drinks are strong and the bartenders are friendly. Their beer shot combos for $10 are the best. There is also a comedy club at the end of the bar with great line ups and
$20 for almost 2 hour shows.

Went in on a Saturday night and it was a little busy but not enough where my group of 3 couldn’t get seated immediately upon arrival. Our server whose name I didnt get but was the only bald white american with a black beard, was what ruined my time there. First off I ordered a sun cruiser and he gave me surf side which whatever I brushed it off. Then about 15 minutes later my friend also ordered a sun cruiser and he gave her a surf side which at that point I was like no we need to say something because he isn’t listening to our order in a bar that isn’t busy is wild.
He then says oh they are the similar which always confuses him and he proceeds to grab my friends surf side drink back. We noticed he held onto the surf side drink and my friend was like we can drink that one too since it’s already opened. He was like no Im sure I’ll find someone who will drink it then proceeds to offer the drink to everyone else seated at the bar. Like bro you messed up my drink and then my friends too and we didn’t earn the free surf side ? I was so confused and upset by that pettiness at such a popular place in the city. Check them out for comedy shows but get your drinks elsewhere to be honest

The comedians gave up. They didn’t even try bc the crowd was small. But i paid full price. I should get the same quality show as any other night. Don’t go.

Cool bar comedy club. Bartender John is fantastic. Super friendly and good man. The drinks were great and needed on this cold winter day. I gotta have my Guinness and Jameson whenever im in NYC. We stayed a lot longer and drank more because of John. Thank you.

Never Going Back — Rude Staff

I used to really enjoy The Grizzly Pear, but that’s over. The bartender — I heard someone refer to her as Sol — was unbelievably rude and unprofessional. I don’t know what’s going on in her personal life, but she needs to leave that energy at home instead of taking it out on customers who just came to relax and enjoy a drink.

Not to mention, the bar was completely empty, the drinks looked translucent, and I don’t even want to talk about the bathroom. It didn’t take me more than a minute or two to walk out after my first interaction with her and the overall vibe in that place. The whole experience felt cold, tense, and unwelcoming.

The Grizzly Pear used to be a favorite of mine, but not anymore. Never going again — zero stars.
