We were in LeClaire for the Eagle and Ice fest and knew ths had to be part of the trip. Our server Mackenzie S was friendly and extremely helpful once we explained we were first timers! Definitely worth the drive down for lunch. Thanks Mackenzie S!!

We hadn’t had a Maid-Rite in two decades since moving out of Iowa and we decided to stop at this location in Muscatine, IA…OMG! It was amazing! This is THE location to get a Maid-Rite! They were juicy, moist, full of flavor and so delicious that we all ordered an extra one each! They were dripping with flavor! That’s how good they were! Their onion rings and corn nugget thingies were excellent and the 1919 Root Beer is to die for GREAT. We loved it so much that we are planning a visit from the Detroit area to Iowa just to enjoy another meal (or two) at this specific location. The waitress was a darling…just GREAT and the food came up in the expected amount of time. 5 Stars!!!

I haven’t been to a Maid Rite since 1984 when I lived in the Peoria Illinois area. So when I heard that they were still available in Iowa I had to get one before we left. So on our way home we stopped at the Maid-Rite in Muscatine. I have to say it was everything that I remember. The store is very nostalgic looking. It has lots of memorabilia from older times on the wall as well as vintage Made Rite signs. The Maid-Rite Sandwich was exactly how I remembered. The chili was pretty good. I enjoyed it. I don’t like spicy foods and that was perfect. My daughter had a hot dog and it was huge but she really enjoyed it. Everybody had root beer floats and since it was the hottest day of the season so far they were extra good. Our waitress was really sweet and she was very attentive. If I ever get a chance to stop by again I’ll be sure to do it.

Good old Maid Rite sandwiches are hard to beat. The restaurant has an old-time feel, and the wait staff was friendly and attentive. There used to be a Maid Rite across the street from my father’s business in Rockford, IL, and I ate lunch there every day when working for him. I wish we still had one around us, but I look forward to coming to Muscatine, IA, to enjoy this treat again. In

Maid-Rite is the best! We drove out of our way so we could visit before heading back to Michigan. Even the picky 12 year old was delighted.

So cute 50’s diner with Elvis playing on the jukebox! My first loose meat sandwich and it was yummy. Ice cold frosty mugs of root beer was the perfect drink!

This place has the original maid rite and is worth the drive to Muscatine. There are a variety of items to choose from. Not just maid totes. The staff is friendly.

I love this place! It’ll give you the right vibe once you really see its glory. They serve root beer in a glass mug, have super good ranch, and just overall it is a good restaurant! The service is polite and friendly. I wish I was able to go there more often, but I’d get questioned about home cooking from a very dear person who helps me pay my bills, so I can’t do much.
