I like a bagel with two eggs and just a little bit of cream cheese so it doesn’t get dry. It sounds like a simple order, but believe me, people go crazy over a request that “weird.”

Today I ordered it at this place and I was honestly impressed. Unlike most places that put three tons of cream cheese and barely any egg, making it impossible to take a proper bite — this place did it exactly the way I asked, very balanced! The bagel is soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. I ordered the everything bagel and oh my God, it’s so good. I’ve just found my favorite bagel.

I have held my tongue for far too long but this is where it crosses the line. This is my 3rd time visiting in 3 months. I used to visit every week. People are NOT happy working there. I order smoked salmon and get charged premium price for 2 slices? This place used to be extremely special. I have reached out multiple times to the bagel train email and who ever to talk to someone but I never have been reached out to. Officially done eating here unless someone there can truly change my mind. There is no employee engagement, it feels dreary and the service is subpar now. No one cares and I can see it with how they all act like it is the customer bothering them. You hate to see it. here is my $13 breakfast bagel with lox

I travel all around NJ for work, so I’ve tried many bagel places. I’ve only been to one other bagel place that has shocked me with the quality and fluffiness of their bagels, and this one just made the Top 2. A great bagel is something you don’t forget! This place makes their own bagels, and they’re huge, fluffy, and have a slight crunch on the top outer most part of the bagel which surprised me because it’s everything you want in a bagel. I had a pork roll egg and cheese on a plain bagel, and it was excellent! I have no complaints. A definite must try if you’re traveling from out of state and want to see why they say NJ and NY make the best bagels in the country.

Solid bagel place and one of my favorites. Fresh bagels and their bacon egg and cheese plain bagel is my go to. I usually go on Sundays and they tend to have a longgggg line, so make sure to call in your order before you go.

Returning the East Coast, I had to have a real bagel. I happened to be in Northern NJ and this place was located few miles from NY/Nj border. The place is very busy with a lot of locals visiting. The badges are good, a large side. I had a lox sandwich and it was great. Other bagels I took home were all good.

Simply put, this is the best bagel shop on the East coast. Hand-rolled bagels, flaggels, bagel sticks every flavor imaginable everything is fresh. The place is always packed and these bagels have the finest ingredients in them. Bagel train has been an institution for decades.

Order a bacon, ham, and egg bagel sandwhich and it was delicious! The cream cheese bagel was also delicious! The place is tiny and only for take out, there is parking available.

I grow up in Suffern many years ago, it’s too bad this place was open when I lived there. I have had bagel in many places to include NYC, Boston, Chicago and SF (which had an excellent bagel), It is the best bagel I’ve had in my nearly 63 years of life. Large, fresh, not chewy, airy and delicious. Every time I visit the area I go to Bagel Train, even if it means I have to go 20 minutes one way. The place has always been busy when I’ve been, but the wait is not too long. I highly recommend Bagel Train for their bagels.

Sing this in the way to Bagel Train in the morning. To the tune of Quad City DJ’s – C’Mon ‘N Ride It (The Train)…”Come on ride the train, and ride it. Come on ride the train, it’s a Bagel Train.” Their bagels are chewy, fresh, flavorful, and giant. My order is an everything bagel with veggie cream cheese on both sides. ADD egg, sausage, and tomato. Great interesting flavors of coffee too. It’s standing room only, no tables.

The bagels are ok, but everything seemed to be a bit too done. I like my bagels toasted if they aren’t directly from the oven and still hot, the outside wasn’t too dark but toasting it made it super crunchy – and not like what you’d typically expect from toasting a bagel. The bacon was almost burnt and a bit too salty, and the hash browns were almost burnt as well. The cinnamon twist was good as is, but I think it would be even better if it was warm. It also weighed a ton, so it’s a very substantial pastry. I enjoyed watching them boil, season, and then bake the bagels right behind the counter! They were filling up the bins straight from the oven and if they hadn’t been so busy I would have gotten back in line to try a fresh, warm bagel. I’ll definitely go back and give it another try because I’ve heard great things about their bagels.
