We decided to try Hunan Village on Saturday when we were in town for an appointment. I have to say I love traditional Utah Chinese restaurants, always have, restaurants like Red Dragon Chinese Bistro, which is my current fave, to Kowloon Cafe that is now permanently closed, the food is always some of the best comfort food around. Having said that we were so pleased with our meal. First off the restaurant was very clean and the servers were very welcoming. I loved the traditional Chinese decor. We both ordered from the lunch menu, my husband started with the egg drop soup, I had the hot and sour soup, both soups were very good, my husband was very impressed with the egg drop soup. The cream cheese wontons were excellent, perfectly made and so crispy, they are called cheese puffs on the menu. My husband had the prawns with vegetables along with ham fried rice, he really enjoyed it. I had their version of General Tso’s chicken, it was delicious. The ham fried was not a stand out. Overall we just really enjoyed the whole meal, the portions were big, we had leftovers to take home and the price point is so reasonable. We are excited to take our kids there for dinner.

Had the crab cheese puffs and beef and broccoli dinner. Crab cheese puffs were really good, egg drop soup was good, beef and broccoli dinner plate was delicious and very well portioned. Atmosphere was kinda chill but professional at least for high school kids running the place. Pretty pricey depending on what you get, for two people 2 dinner plates, 2 orders of crab cheese puffs and 2 soft drinks I paid 63.99. My experience wasn’t bad with this place overall, I would probably eat here again.

This place is a true hidden gem! The food is excellent with generous portions every time. I honestly don’t understand why anyone would choose another Chinese takeout spot over this one. I’m always a little sad to see the restaurant so empty when I pick up, but honestly, it works in my favor—the food is made fresh to order, and I get in and out faster than any fast-food drive-thru.
The prices are very fair for the quality and quantity you get. I haven’t tried a single dish here that I didn’t love!
The only small downside is that lately one of the guys at the counter has seemed a bit grumpy or short-tempered. He isn’t rude at all, just noticeably less friendly than the staff used to be when I first started coming. Still, the food is so consistently great that it’s more than worth it

What the heck is this hunan? ♀️ I order two of these bbq pork appetizers never again, sooooo dry, no flavor, it’s like you dipped dried ham in red food coloring, it tastes like no effort.
The chicken fried rice was 6/10 no color, no flavor
The shrimp chow mein 9/10
Broccoli Beef 9/10
Orange Chicken 9/10
Bbq Pork NEGATIVE -10/10

This place is delicious, we went for the first time and then went back one week later to take the rest of the family.
Now don’t get me wrong it could use some new lighting and a fresh coat of paint, but the service and food are great!
I would say the family style plates feed at least 2-3 people per plate and range around $10-$13. They also have combo meals if you want your own thing. Everything we’ve tried far is so delicious!

We ordered a large order on Christmas day, to our surprise they told us it would be ready in 10-15 minutes. We headed over and in reality it took 45 more minutes. One dinner was missing. The quality was very poor and I hate to say this but barely edible. My dinner was the sesame beef, there was no sauce on the tasteless, deep-fried pieces of maybe beef? Not sure there was really beef in the batter. Come on, it would not have taken much effort to add seasoning. Sadly we will not be back.
